72 NFL players have tested positive for COVID-19
NFL
I really don’t understand the point of organized sports under these circumstances
I mean I get it ..$
But some leagues certain teams can’t participate, teams can’t field their best team (some players won’t play), fans can’t be in attendance, fans can’t watch at bars, different states with different covid protocols, etc etc
It’s really pushing a rock up a hill
Is anyone going to care who wins World Series this year?

worst name ever

This is not a final renaming and rebranding for team; this is the name it wants to use until pending adoption of a new name in the future.

jules might be the OG woke-nfl-analyst for this board, but many folks have refused to use the term "redskins" for longer. there's the story of Mike Carey, an NFL referee for 19 years. for the first 11 years of his career, he never said "redskins" when making calls - it was always "offside, Washington number 45, five yard penalty…" for his last 8 years, he refused to ref any Washington games.
My interest in the NFL has really dropped drastically in the past decade, but holy shit what a weekend of games.
The Chiefs/Bills game last night may be the best game I recall watching… ever?

All 4 games were exciting, but last nights game was incredible.

i can't remember a better weekend of football. bills/chiefs was the icing on an amazing cake.
division finals weekend, with 4 top-shelf games, should be celebrated as a holiday.

I rarely find myself watching the NFL and even less often find myself texting back and forth with people about it, but that was the case this weekend. Wish Buffalo had won so we'd guarantee some new blood winning but wow, what a quad of games.
With all the advantages the league has given to the offense…it's just too easy to score. How many times this year did offenses score with less than a minute left in the game to come back and win.

78.
OMG Damar Hamlin
It's completely ridiculous that they haven't called the game yet. Cancel.for tonight and figure out the details later. FFS!

I mean, the NFL is garbage, but I think it was handled properly…

They told the teams they had five minutes to resume and the coaches and players, by multiple accounts, told the referees no and called the league office on a cell phone and told them to fuck off. I don’t think it’s clear this was handled properly at all.

See my first line about the NFL being trash… but I'm assuming the severity wasn't fully known in the first 300 seconds.

Enough with the hysterics. If the NFL had to call every game when a player had a scary injury more than half of the games would be called early. That said, Goddell is a douchebag and the Shield deserves all the egg thrown at it this morning for scheduling the Packers and Lions on Sunday night and screwing the Seahawks in favor of the NFL's golden child Packers.
