well, we've been treating vansmack to a good helping of mizzou football this year. . .wife and i are gonna be at the colorado/baylor game in boulder this weekend, so smackie gets a break from watching another televised mizzou game on saturday night against tech.
tech would be a huge win, i would finally start taking them seriously if they get a win there, although the lack of an early season let down this year has made me get my hopes up already

colorado/baylor? ouch

well, i went to baylor and wife's sister goes to colorado. . .it's colorado homecoming, and a baylor win would be really fun (not to mention my school and my wife's school both would have beaten colorado).

the big 12 is just getting worse and worse, every year. i just hope 1) that baylor sometime in my lifetime makes a bowl game, and 2) for my wife's sake, that mizzou doesn't turn into minnesota, scheduling cupcake out of conference games then getting killed in conference play.

I. But the truth is, the kicking game has been carrying the Bears, not Rex. Robbie Gould leads the league in scoring. When the defense is that good and the kicker leads the league in scoring that's the sign of a bad offense. Defense controls the field position for the kicking game.

Gould is actually tied with Wilkins for the scoring lead, only Gould has kicked 6 more extra points than Wilkins. This means that the Chicago offense is scoring more TD's.

Oh and by the way Rex Grossman was just named NFC offensive player of the month.

Last time I checked, Shaun Alexander did not play cornerback or rushed the quarterback, so having him in the game would not effect his performance.

Great, they're out scoring the Rams in a rebuilding year post Mike Martz. Now I'm convinced the Bears are going to win the Super Bowl. And BTW, the Rams are the worst team in the NFC in the Red Zone - just ask every Steven Jackson owner in fantasy.

Really? Ever tried to control the clock or field position without a running game?

Seattle had three drives of over 20 yards the entire game, every other time it was no more than 5 plays. And not once did Seattle start a drive beyond their own 40. If that doesn't tire out your defense, I don't know what does.

The turning point of that game was the defense giving the Bears great field position in the second quarter for three consecutive drives - all starting inside the Seattle 40 after two INTs and a fumble. And all within 5 minutes.

Well I am a Jackson owner and my fantasy team is currently 3-1. Of course I'm heavily invested in St. Louis since I have Jackson, Wilkins and Bulger. Last week those three won that game for me.

If you're in a TD heavy league then Jackson hasn't been great, although he did get his first TD last week and plays Green Bay this week. He does have a boat load of yards though and I think the TD's will keep coming as that offense becomes more comfortable under their new head coach.
I'm on page 688 of the Al Saunders offensive playbook…12 more pages of 5 wide-receivers formation and I'll be able to predict Super Bowl appearance fer the SKINSsssssssssss
I admit to being a Bulger owner.
How 'bout that game last night? The only who looked worse than Grossman was Neil Rackers.

MIRACLE GAME. DREAM SEASON. TEAM OF DESTINY.
yeah, how bout that rex grossman led comback. . errr, no. . .wait. 4 int's and 2 fumbles. yikes. good thing the bears have a defense and special teams that can make up for grossman's many, many mistakes.
i picked up grossman in week 3 for my fantasy team. i also have berrian. going into the game last night, i was down by 5; that was until grossman went and picked up -10 pts for me. yaaaayyy.
Grossman's QB rating last night: 10.7
You should all be happy that I fractured my thumb this weekend, otherwise there would be another smackie novel here.

Sexy Rexy couldn't have proven my thoughts on the Bears any better then he did last night. There are 3 teams in football that wouldn't have put the Bears up for a 45-7 drubbing last night, and one of them is the Arizona Cardinals. Of course we did see a new face in the pantheon of sports faces last night - the Matt Leinart "Please Trade Me Now" Face, and in only his second start!

I'll take the win and the 6-0 start.

I'll take the 7-5 Steelers from last year spending the first 12 weeks how to make a QB out of Ben Rothlisberger, winning 4 in a row and making the playoffs, only to run the table using luck in the playoffs when it matters, and not in the regular season to beat crappy opponents like Arizona.

How quickly everybody forgets that the Bears won 8 in row last year and 10 of their last 12 (soft schedule again) only to let Delhomme and Smith look like Montana to Rice in the first round at home. Oh, that's right, they've got Sexy Rexy now - he's a driver, he's a winner; things are gonna change, I can feel it. At some point Bears fans are going to realize that 2006 is no different than 2005.

This is the real problem with fantasy football. Nobody's watching the team any more, they're simply watching players. That's probably why the Colts always get such high odds….
seriously, its week 7. team of destiny, pfft
