NFL

On Friday, the Ravens signed free safety Will Hill, who was a free agent after being waived by the New York Giants in June. The Giants parted ways with Hill after his third drug suspension in three years.

Impeccable timing.
Does anyone know of a decent, free site that streams games?  Can't get Fox 45 on Fios.

In hindsight - what a great decision!
I think the NFL is going to look at the eligible / ineligible rule in the off-season.  You have to give the D time to adjust.  Belichick walks right up to the line of legality.  And sometimes crosses it.

oh i don't know..i think it makes the game more dynamic..i like it….

that is the positive about American Football: it constantly evolves and changes…

the Packers were a disgrace today.. they gave that game away because once they were up they thought they could stop playing…..glad it worked out for Seattle.. you have to want it.. you have to go for it and grab it by the jugular.

UGH how many times do I have to witness the Patriots losing a fucking Super Bowl.

I think they'll win. But whenever I think a team is a shoe in, they lose. So, I guess Seattle will win? Seattle played like DOG SHIT. AT HOME. Ugh. That game was so fucking boring and painful. The only justice will be the Pats steam rolling the Hawks back to their gloomy city.

This over a Broncos/Packers Super Bowl!? COME ON NFL, YOU CANT FIX THIS!? Gah!

Just like the rest of all those annoying NE fans.  So spoiled.  How many teams don't even MAKE it to
the Super Bowl?  And it's not like the Pats are the Bills - they actually WON a few.

It would be nice if they could just rely on their talent and not resort to tricks and cheating though.
I'm so sick of seeing that god damn team in the Super Bowl.
I'm weird I guess.. I like the Patriots.. they have the best coach since Bill Walsh….and maybe the best QB since Montana….and I like watching teams that play well and are well coached…

I also really like their "go for the jugular" approach…if they had been the Packers yesterday they would have stopped playing once they were up 21-7……
I mean, I love watching them play. I always loved the battles they had with Indy, but it's just…. it becomes grating. I wanted to see Peyton go out on top. I wanted to see Aaron Rodgers go for another Lombardi. I thought that would have been a great story. Now it's a Seattle team that played like horse shit vs a Pats team that seems to be rolling into the Super Bowl. But who knows.

I wanted to see Peyton die on the field and with his dying breathe admit he was a homosexual power bottom.

As such, I greatly enjoy any success Brady (his natural foil) has. I hope he wins 5 Super Bowls and Luck gets at least 2. Fuck Peyton.
I love Peyton Manning.
I have nothing against either team. I think this shapes up as a good storyline. The old dynasty vs. the potential new one. The Seahawks didn't look so hot yesterday, but as Tom Jackson pointed out, even after tossing 4 picks, they never stopped playing aggressively and it paid off. And as my beloved Giants have shown - twice - Brady and the Pats can be beaten in the big game no matter how hot they are when they enter.

I agree with that.

I also like that both teams are the #1 seeds. I hate the concept of a single-elimination playoff featuring 40% of the league's teams as its an absolute affront to logic, reasoning, and cognitive function, so its nice to actually see - you know - the best two teams in football play for the title instead of some random 10-6 team that go hot in the last month.
Except for the NBA I'd say it's probably rare in any league that the two best teams during the regular season face each other for the championship.

I think it's alot easier to swallow in the NHL and NBA when the system is designed to reduce variance as much as possible (massive home court advantages, best of 7) versus the NFL's system which is the statistical equivalent of taping half the teams names on a wall and throwing a dart.

As much as I hate soccer, EPL has the best system: base the champion on all the data points (i e. games) available and eschew the concept of a playoff altogether. Playoffs are super exciting and creating ratings; playoffs are also an asinine, illogical way to name a champion.
