I tuned into the radio after having sat in the car in my parking spot for 2 hours to find out that part of the problem was one exit was completely flooded and closed, so everyone was going out via one exit. Also heard that for a while the stoplights everywhere around the venue had shorted and were out, so they were scrambling police to direct traffic at about a half dozen stoplight intersections. The weird thing was that we were literally going nowhere for 2 hours, and then all of a sudden it took only 10 minutes to get out of the parking lot. Did they only open one lot at a time or something and my lot was just last in line?

I got my replacement tickets yesterday. I am glad to be able to see Radiohead, and that is cool of them to comp tickets, but it still sucks that this had to happen in the first place.

in which case you would have wanted to be in dublin yesterday, they broke out a new song called "super collider". they rehearsed it previously during soundchecks, but last night was its concert debut. piano-driven number with arpeggiated patterns and strong vocal melody was how one person described it, i haven't had time to track it down yet. i'm sure shitty copies are all over youtube, but i'm holding out for a decent bootleg - which are probably popping up right about now.

well, yeah it'd be great to see something brand new again, but i suppose i'm just a little disinterested right now and also i haven't really been gung-ho about hurrying up to hear the new stuff in the past few years. i listened to the 2002 stuff and i don't know what it was about it, but hearing the recordings negatively affected how i felt about HTTT and i don't really like that because i eventually ended up liking the album quite a bit (actually being there and just hearing recordings are really two different things).
also, re: looking for last night
the recordings made in europe are typically sub-standard in quality compared to what gets made here. i wouldn't be going out of my way at all to look for any european radiohead recordings unless i know ahead of time that it's actually going to be decent quality. (this is mainly specifically in reference to radiohead and not a broad generalization about all recordings of all bands in europe)

hum, excellent point. in which case you'll want to stay away from the recordings from dublin (they played it on night 2 as well). i've listened to them and the song sounds decent but incomplete. it's probably way better with the full band (comments on message boards seem to support this belief), but the piano-only versions so far = thom noodling. kinda meh.
for those not as wise as mr. distance:
night 1 MP3 night 2 MP3 night 2 AVI the AVI probably has the best audio quality, although it's only half the song. i needed to play it in VLC Media Player.

and now is the 2-year anniversary of the aforementioned debut of 'down is the new up'. funny that the first performance started with some sort of thom beat-box kind of thing and how quickly they dropped that by two nights later for montreal night 1. i'm really glad i made that trip. i also think it's funny that 50% of the times i've seen radiohead, it's been in canada.

so I have a question that sweetcell can surely answer since he loves to do so.
best way from Baltimore to Camden?
google maps is taking me to the NJTP and getting off at Exit 2.
is that the best way from south? I was thinking it could be since traffic coming into , then out of Philly may be bad
anyone thats been up to Susquehanna Bank, help me out! :)

For Pearl Jam, my wife and I took the suggestion of other boardies to take the
ferry over. Worked out pretty well… definitely a good idea if you want to do anything in Philly before or after. The line to get on the ferry got pretty insane though, so be sure to head over to board as quick as possible after the show.

sorry sonick, i wasn't online for most of the day so i couldn't answer your question.
i got center rail in camden. amazing show, once again. highlights for me were "no surprises", a killer version of "the bends", "idioteque" straight in to "climbing up the walls", "jigsaw", and "go slowly". i was about 8 feet away from the band. got some ridiculous photos.
