OFFICIAL Virgin Mobile FREEFEST 2009 Q/A - Hype Thread! REVISED

Then it must be another example of Ticketbastard screwing the pooch again…add it to the long list.

Not true. As stingy a bastard as I am, I would have never selected charity, not even by accident.

Although I'd be fine if ticketmaster took the mistake money and gave it to charity.

The $5 charges must have been for the charity contribution $5 per ticket.  They had so many options must have been a little confusing.

the rest of the world - "a free concert with those bands?  five dollars for processing?  wow.  thank you very much!!"

here - "a free concert?  five dollars for processing?  fucking rip off artists.  fuck them!!"
I did the 5$ charity will call option for a pair.  It cost 15, 10 for charity and 5 for the ticketmaster empire….
No, this $5 was a service charge and I got it too.  When I went just a second later to get two for my sister there was no charge, perhaps it knew it'd already charged me?  Out of curiosity, where is GAX13 or whichever number I got?  I had GAX2 but it was on mail order so I clicked out to get will call, and I hope I didn't throw away 2nd row tickets because of $10 fee.

I also haven't seen anything about the VIP tickets mentioned in the post.  I hope one of the places I already volunteer counts as a "designated youth shelter."
i think the rest of world would say the same thing. if you say free, should be free. no problem with paying $5 but i want to know up front
I ordered the mailed tickets, and it said standard mail was free, then added the $10 charge.  It makes sense, kinda.

But I'm not going to complain about $5 per ticket.  I don't see how anyone can, really.

to be fair when you've not expecting the fee it's a little off putting and if it's inconsistently being charge one has to wonder… it's not as "bad" as recent livenation no fee sale
I went with will call and $5 a ticket for charity donation (got two tickets). I am also fine with the $5 processing free. So for a whopping $15 I get a full day of music. What a great deal!!

A coworker already told me I suck, because I got tickets and they have not.

Thanks Seth and Sir Richard!!

can i come to your job and tell you you will not be paid for what you do.  if you say no . . . then you are a ripoff artist.  do you really think the process of what ticketmaster does (printing of tickets/running the website/paying phone staph, etc…) is all done for free?
ah, shut up.

that will be five dollars.
you're not my employer so come on down to my place and tell me i wont be paid  ;D and who cares what it takes to run ticketmaster. has nothing to do with what we're talking about. go take a walk and find something else to comment on.

That means nothing as far as your tickets are concerned.  GA is GA.     I think it's just an indicator of how many tickets have been sold.  The higher that number, the greater number of tickets.   I think that's how it works anyway.
it's funny Seth kept mentioning in the radio interview over and over no fees what so ever free is free no hidden charges. The only fee would be for mailing tickets.  Now I'm hearing people getting charged for the will call tickets.  Nice  ;D
I just got my confirmation email and it doesn't say anything about an extra 5$.  ???
Hi all!  I am as stocked about this event as the rest of you.

When I ordered my WILL CALL tickets with $10 (2x$5) donation, I too was charged an "ORDER PROCESSING FEE". >:(

I promptly called Ticketmaster and within a half hour received a call saying it was a programming error, I would be refunded the $5 and the situation has been corrected in the system.

Like most of you, if the extra $5 went to charity, I am cool with it….but this event was "not for profit" and I would be DAMNED if Ticketmaster would profit from this.

Anyhoo, check your accounts if you were "overcharged". ;)

And MUCH THANKS to all involved for putting this FREE event together. ;D

not whining here.  i got my tickets for (almost) free, i'm going, i'm happy.  but this has nothing to do with the  value of the show, i think it's fantastic that they're putting this on for free.  if tickets were $20, i would've paid.  it's about a not so small computer glitch from a company with a long history of consistently being inconsistent and charging only a certain amount of people and made them a nice little profit.  donate it to charity i say!
Excellent.
Thanks for letting us know!
