So, when this whole FreeFest thing got announced, I jumped on ticketmaster and got my 2 tickets, and kinda forgot about the thing until today when they came in the mail. And now, I just do not have the energy to haul myself up to Merriweather Post, fight for decent seats (since it's all GA), and endure the 30,000 Atticus wearing numbskulls who simply want to see Blink-182 play songs about poop and fucking. Oh, and it's supposed to rain too.

I guess if Blink-182 and Weezer died in some sort of bus crash on the way there, it would be pretty awesome because most of their idiot fratboy fans wouldn't show up and I could see the actual talent on the lineup like The National, The Hold Steady, Girl Talk, and Franz Ferdinand in relative peace, but as it is, I'm too old to put up with this nonsense. However, maybe YOU are not! If you want them, $25 gets you both. Will meet you anywhere in Richmond, but prefer Carytown or the Museum District.

I wouldn't have lumped in Weezer on my shitlist, but yes, I do want to meet this person for drinks.

I'm guessing they will post the merriweather set up along with the set times sometime today on the website? Trying to squeeze 30000 people into merriweather is going to be interesting. No way that they could have the main stage in pavilion, or could they?

They almost certainly will.

  One stage will be located in the pavilion, one stage will be located in the West parking lot (where they have Warped Tour).  The dance tent will be located on the paved parking lot on the opposite side of the lawn from 932 (where they had it for the Area 1 Tour).

really? it's not like weezer's songs are so musically complex that they need josh freese… i'm slightly confused by this.

Freese must be the go to drummer these days seeing as he is now a permanent member of several bands including DEVO

How do they do it for Warped Tour? I heard something about the Pavillion not being *either* of the stages or anything, but that they build two stages, one at either end of the parking lot…
