Yea, I got mine, as did a few friends, at ten on thursday, but everyone I know that logged on at ten on Saturday was unable to get anything.

no, lots of people got tickets right at 10. i think it was 10:03 or 10:04 when it sold out.
you guys also have to factor in that blink and weezer were also having pre-sales of their own. so that took a big chunk of tickets from the pot as well.

Wait, were Blink 182 and Weezer having a dual set together scheduled for August 30th originally, and had their own presale? And then V mobile freefest incorporated with 182/weezer, and then had that presale on thursday?

So was there a lot that was released for presale then there was for the actual sale? Oh yeah I think people who bought in previous years never got passwords from ticketmaster, well that was in my case. I think just people who signed up for the alerts on the virgin site got passwords. Either way I got mine yay ;D

I'm thinking the same, because I read in a report that people who attended last years festival didn't get theirs. BUT, I did go last year, and I did get the email for the password, BUT AGAIN, I signed up for the festival updates email listing. But it should be the people who are returning goers and Virgin Mobile customers, because that's whats stated in the email. Maybe it is a glitch, who knows, the control for free festivals like these are nearly impossible to handle, unless all ticket directions are in one way such as just a designated will call, but that could be hectic as well.
Since Seth stated that neither side would be unhappy, I'm thinking too that there's were a LOT of tickets in the presale. And a somewhat amount on Saturday. What about the Blink 182 and Weezer Presales? I think they've had one too, unless it was on Thursday 10 am too.

The only full proof way for everyone to get tickets without scalpers getting in the way is a will call only enter immediately set up. That is impossible however with 38,000 people. This setup with a pre-sale was the best case scenario. The password was on the internet if you took ten minutes to look and everyone I know who did the pre-sale at 10 got tickets.

The password shouldn't have been **********, because it was the same damn generic code for every year. Make the passwords UNIQUE, that would've removed most, if not all, problems.

The Weezer presale was Friday at 10AM. Not sure if Blink had one of their own, but Id assume it was prob same time as Weezers.
