8/5/1994 The Toasters, Dance Hall Crashers, Hepcat, Voodoo Glow Skulls @ Metro (Chicago)
8/6/1999 Duran Duran @ House of Blues (Chicago)
8/7/1999 Goo Goo Dolls w/Sugar Ray and Fastball @ World Music Theater (Tinley Park, IL) (The most notable thing about this evening is that after the show, my sisters and I got invited to a dinner in Chicago with Simon LeBon, who got stinking drunk and took 2 girls into the bathroom with him)
8/7/2002 American Analog Set w/ Her Space Holiday @ Black Cat
8/8/2002 Sonic Youth w/ Mary Timony @ 9:30 Club
8/6/2004 Curiosa @ Merriweather (loved this show)
8/3/2006 Sleater-Kinney @ 9:30
8/5/2006 The Germs @ Black Cat (hands down one of my favorite shows of all time. I got to play Pat Smear's guitar with my teeth)
8/4 & 5/2007 Lollapalooza (Muse, Interpol, Patti Smith, Iggy and the Stooges, Yo La Tengo, Snow Patrol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, etc.) @ Grant Park
8/8/2007 The B-52's @ Wolf Trap
8/7/2009 Black Francis (w/Eric Drew Feldman) @ Hotel Utah Saloon (San Francisco)
8/8/2009 Black Francis (w/Eric Drew Feldman) @ Hotel Utah Saloon (San Francisco) (these were another 2 of my favorite concerts of all time)

7/31/2002 The Palladins w/ Original Sinners (featuring Exene from X) @ Velvet Lounge
7/31/2007 Social Distortion w/ the Hangmen and the Heart Attacks @ Ram's Head Live (Baltimore) (Probably my favorite birthday. The Hangmen wished me a happy birthday and dedicated the song "Desperation Town" to me.)

Hotel Utah is smaller than DC9 I think (but a cool as shit venue)
What's crazy is the Pixies sold out 3 shows at the FOX in Oakland (more than 2x size of 930)
in Nov that same year
Not that I don't believe you, but Setlist.fm doesn't even have these dates listed
but does have him in LA on 8/12

I believe the doorman said that there were 180 tickets sold each night. (According to my concert journal it was Black Francis' tour manager that told me that.) I went the first night because I bought a ticket. The second night I managed to score guest list because I got friendly with the door staff. I got there so early that I actually found a place to sit in front of the stage both nights…the first night was over 3 hours long and he did a Storytellers-type deal where he just talked, played a song, talked a little more, etc. The second night was (I think) a bit shorter but he did MUCH less talking, more playing. First night was a ton of Pixies stuff. Second night was lots more solo stuff, but a ton of things from the first 2 solo LPs. Both nights Eric Drew Feldman played "Calistan" on piano…if I had a recording of anything in all the years of seeing live music, that's one of the things that would be on the list. That's one of my favorite songs of all time, but the version played both nights was perfect. Guitar and piano. Sparse. Haunting. One of the best stories he told was opening for the Ramones in 1994, and he went into this whole thing about how the Ramones not only played fast, but their tour bus traveled fast. He'd follow them and he got 3 speeding tickets in 3 states all in the same day trying to keep up. And he said they were big states…one was Texas. Then he played "I Heard Ramona Sing". One guy kept screaming for "All My Ghosts" on the first night…Frank refused to play it. Then it was one of the first numbers he played on the second night, LOL. He also said he couldn't remember the lyrics to "Speedy Marie", but between the 2 nights he played a huge chunk of "Teenager of the Year". It really just was one of those incredible experiences to see him in that small of a venue.
(It turns out the first night was no talking…second night was all the stories. So happy I wrote things down.)

ok I understand pat benatar in 87….but two shows in two weeks in 2007?!
fun fact, pat benatar grew up in Lindenhurst NY (on long island) my mom was a Math teacher in her High School and Pat was training to be an Opera singer and my mom said she'd never forget hearing her one day when she was practicing. She was soo small but could really belt it out
Pat for some reason always distanced herself from Lindenhurst and LI
it does mention Lindenhurst on her bio on her own
website but in interviews in the 80's and 90's she would never say she grew up there

I know you've all missed my entries….. I promise I'll get back to it.. Summertime has/had so many festivals so too many band names to include. The cut/paste/edit process can be tedious.
Don't let me know if there is a greater first-world problem.

not necessarily yours, but I do have an odd fascination with this thread
I have no objection to the concept…but really does this live beyond the year
Will new bordies carry the flame?
though they'd dread the very thought of it, agaz or ksal could quite easily produce a running list of the last 214 bands they've seen on 10/2-9/2000-15
might even be 216?
