not sure how I scored tix to that, but that was fun nite,
Thanks for coming out. We really appreciate the support, especially early on.

Oh, hello Julian from the Strokes. You are welcome. Btw you know how that band Oasis just put together 23 songs from their prime and played the fan friendliest 20-30 shows they could, sans bullshit, and it made everyone feel awesome?  You guys should do that. Maybe it will remind you of the magic you guys had.

Also that 9:30 club show was definitely a fun nite. The Strokes had a lot of mystique at the time . . .the coolest cool kids distilling the coolest music into exactly what you’d been waiting for.
But I really like the last album…

Back in 2001 when they broke big in Argentina I emailed the bands manager asking them to come play Buenos Aires….it was amusing to get an immediate reply asking me where and when they could play as if I was a promoter or somebody

we thought there were some incredibly excited fans carrying signs to the show for some reason, only to realize that there was some wrestling event in the same complex the same night.

Funny!  Reminds me of an experience that even without the hallucinogenic component, was still surreal:  Grateful Dead show in Birmingham AL in the same complex as the opening night (w/ black tie) of "Les Miserables"
