Official 930 Club Replacements Echostage May 8 Show

The show at the Bayou was great. Enjoyed every Mats show I saw, even after Chris quit.

It's clearly not the same thing now. The solo shows aren't either.  And $70 is really steep for this (not to mention what it'll cost to park over there). But I'll definitely go.
Can we all agree that whether or not this constitutes "The Replacements" or $70 is worth it, Hutch is an unmitigated asshole, just in general?

I always thought you were the forum asshole Julian….not to mention resident creep… Lets remember that this is the guy who wrote: "Thatguy could not stand me. He told me I could come back "over his dead body." I returned the day he died."

I think we need a poll to settle this.

I've tried to get Kosmo to allow polls but to no avail…..

Now, that's the first sensible idea I've heard all day.

Bayou was a great show. The show is here: http://replacementslivearchive.blogspot.com/2013/09/july-29-1987-bayou-washington-dc.html

At $70 plus whatever parking costs, this will be (for me) the least expensive Replacements show of the reunion cash-grab iteration of the band so I am beyond thrilled that it is at Echo (and not DAR or Merriweather).

I'll drink to that as well…how much it would have sucked at either one of those venue (IMHO)
Edith Piaf played DAR at least twice..

I was shocked by that…
A couple years ago they were one of 3 bands that I was thinking I'd like to see get together and tour again.  I'd think of going, but I'm not going to break my neck over it.  I've never been to Echostage, but I hear it's a pain to park there, and I gather it's not near metro.  And at least I've seen them once, way back when, at the Bayou.

for the record, it's really not that hard to get to?
a block off of NY Ave on Bladensburg road
no metro right there
but from their site:
Free shuttle will be provided to and from the New York Avenue Metro stop (Red Line).
Pickup is at M Street side of the NoMa Metro stop.
Last shuttle to the metro leaves at 2:30am on weekend (fri-sat) night shows.

also, I found parking fairly easy
But as the guy at the Capitol ballroom once told me
'over here, it's park and pay.  over there, it's park and pray'

Don't think I've ever owned a car less than 7 years old, so I don't mind praying
Superchunk are opening the Philly show.
so did anyone get the presale link?
f'n IMP email blasts hate me
relax, they send it Wednesday nights

Cherish.

And J Roddy

Hoping Superchunk is on the DC bill.

Found a path to some $150 VIP tix for Philly…

my apologies if i offended anyone other than sidehatch… ;D…my very good friend is dying of cancer and its been really hard…

good luck to everyone getting tickets tomorrow!
Jon Wurster says he's juggling dates between Superchunk and Mountain Goats. I think he's trying to make it work, but it's not official. Replacements and Superchunk would be a guaranteed sellout.
Mac from Superchunk is playing Richmond the same night as Replacements in DC so I don't see Superchunk happening.

If the money is right I'd bet he could rearrange it…
