When the study authors restricted the results to the people who actually received colonoscopies – about 12,000 out of the more than 28,000 who were invited to do so – the procedure was found to be more effective. It reduced the risk of colorectal cancer by 31% and cut the risk of dying of that cancer by 50%.

I always feel like these articles that question colon and prostate cancer screening are bought and paid for by insurance companies….who don't want to pay for ANYTHING.

I think people look at my accomplishments on here and just assume I'm old as the rest of you, but really, I'm like a decade from colonoscopy time still.

Signed, younger than the average boardie, however, due to GI issues both genetically and probably brought on by myself, I've had a colonoscopy and have one coming up in November!

Oh, no, I thought the age was still fifty.
Too funny, that this thread popped back up today. I am currently doing the pre op paperwork for my 2nd colonoscopy in a couple of weeks.

So looking forward to the prep, which hasn't changed since my last one. So looking forward, to having my he-cunt exposed for all to see.
The medical/pharmaceutical community - change the standards-make a ton more $$$.

My father died of colon cancer, after never having had a colonoscopy, so yeah.
I am so sorry for that….awareness definitely saves lives

I am kind of paranoid cause my doctors are telling me to wait til next year because of my cancer..and I have eaten a lot of red meat 🥩
Grateful, I'm very sorry to hear that.  It's a real risk

If the cancer is diagnosed at a localized stage, the survival rate is 91%
It's expected to cause about 52,580 deaths during 2022.

Hence early detection is key
Got mine tomorrow. Wish me luck. I really wish I could have some lunch.

My wife refuses to get one because "I don't want some strange man sticking a wand up my ass."  (I think I read that 85% of gastroentologists are men.) This in spite of the fact that her uncle, who never had a colonoscopy, died from colon cancer a couple of months ago. Sigh.
Nobody wants that but people still get them

so by that logic, would it be OK if Julian stuck that wand up her ass?

also there is the poop in a box method that you can do in the privacy of your own Loo

She'll be asleep for the procedure, just like half the time she's having sex with you.
BOOM!
