New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill Monday to decriminalize marijuana use in the state.
Under the law, use could still result in a fine, but will not be considered a criminal offense that could result in prison time.

I do think the legalization/decimalization of Pot is similar to Alcohol (in fact much safer)
I don't really agree with cocaine, I think it's much more dangerous and addictive
but taking the profit out of a drug, changes the black market behind that
although with Pot we've since learned that the bureaucracy makes it more expensive, so there is still a thriving black market

While I have no interest in either personally, I am all for full legalization of pot and very-heavy decriminalization of cocaine.

I mean, yeah, but at-risk teens aren't helped by this in any way.

even as a parent, I get annoyed by this argument that adults can't do adult things because 'what about the kids'

You've just pushed me into favor full legalization of coke.

Then I hope your kids survive their addictions and pull themselves out of the gutter before they hit 30.
That would be success, I guess.

but isn't that more of a parenting responsibility, not the government
let's be clear….I said that I'm not for the legalization of cocaine (I would be in favor of a decriminalized approach to drug abuse tho)
I'd say cars pose a much greater risk to at risk teens than
Accidents account for 41 percent of deaths among people in the 15 to 24 age group. Motor vehicle accidents alone account almost a quarter of all deaths of these young adults.Suicide and homicide are next
Fifteen percent of the deaths of in this age group were induced by drugs or alcohol
also please tell me what drug being illegal…has stopped people from doing it?

although it's a hard comparison to make with precision, most experts agree that cocaine is about as addictive as alcohol. yet we have figured out alcohol…

Good point hadn't heard that argument
Alcohol is pretty dangerous stuff and the cause of a lot of misery and premature death
but I do think other drugs could be treated the same way of regulations and laws
I guess there was a time when cocaine was considered harmless
TIL
In 1884, at the age of 28, Freud wrote a paper titled “Uber Coca,” which he described as a “song of praise to this magical substance.”
He overlooked a major downside to cocaine: addiction. Freud struggled for the next 12 years to break his cocaine habit.

Cigarettes are incredibly addictive and are legal
Cocaine should be legal but regulated tightly

Aerosol computer cleaner is legal and not only is it additive it turns your brain into Trump's brain. Yet no one is calling for computer cleaner to be illegal….

When they finally make pot legal, I am going to be so fucking angry, for awhile.
The history of unfairness involved in all of this . . . I won't forget it. This won't be all pies and anchovies, from the start.
Fuck them up their asses, will be my first month motto. Fuck Mitch mcconnell getting 30 million right from the get go. Fuck Boehner.

six ounces?!? dude. that's a lot of weed. unless you're snoop or willie, no one needs to walk around with that much (and still claim it's "personal"…)
