lemme read what you posted now. :)
ok, so lucky for you, you have Crosby because "winning the cup twice since 1991" is a pretty sorry way to brag of a team.
and i dont see how getting two players from another team are trying to be just like them.
i mean, Jagr probably convinced McPhee to pull the strings on Lang, since they were old teammates and countrymen.
Pittsburgh fans are weird though. I never knew any til i moved to Maryland. a strange breed for sure.
(and now that the Pens have Gonchar, are THEY trying to be like Washington???)

*2 over-time wins during that span including the epic 6 1/2 hr game & the series ending Gonchar cough up.

So much so that Caps owners have had to devise schemes to keep them from filling up the old Cap Ctr:

I've been to that old joint when you'd think it was a Pens home game.

The Flyers over-time game is a painful memory. I was there & it was very difficult to endure (by 1:00 that evening all you could buy @ concession was Twizzlers.) It ruined my friend's love for hockey. She still cringes when she sees a Zamboni and hates any sort of extra innings/overtime/etc.

I just thought of something - You're not a Pens hater just because they also bumped off your beloved Bruins enroute to the consecutive Cups wins are you? :D

I finished opening some mail that arrived while I was on vacation & I got a letter from Gary Bettman. He apologized for the lock-out & sent me free season tickets.
(only part of this is true…er fact.)
Has anyone heard any word on who my Red Wings are going to try and sign as a goalie. I'd heard something in the Free Press about going after Khabibulan, but he probably wants a max contract and that'd make resigning Datsyuk and Zetterberg difficult which I feel are huge priorities (Pavel especially).
I'd like to see them just go with Legace and throw some of their money at another sniper to replace Hull and Whitney or a defenseman to replace Hatcher. Oh, and what's the deal with Chelios and Schneider?

Chelios called the Pens & wants to play with them.
Whew…back on track…
Originally posted by Julian, faux celeb-porn CONNOISSEUR:Ha, free press just answered my own question: Schneider just resigned for 3.3mil per. They're breaking up the Lindstrom/Schnieder pairing though, and putting Kronwall and Fischer with them to stretch the defensive talent. Chelios is mulling over an offer but is viewed as a third string defensive guy at this point.
Oh, and what's the deal with Chelios and Schneider?
Osgood is being considered as goalie. Fuck that, just play Legace if that's the best we can do. We need to sign 11 guys and have 12 mil to do it. Datsyuk is going to want 2.5 per and Zetterberg would probably be 1.5. That'd leave 9 slots and 8 million. Osgood's going to eat too much of that.

Then we come to Palffy. The Islanders were after him until they landed Satan. Pallfy is running out of teams that could make him a big offer. Detroit and the New York Rangers are the leading candidates.

Lord, I'd love Pallfy. If we could get him and still resign Datsyuk and Zetterberg I think we'd be sitting pretty in the West.

and no, i dont agree. My high school hockey team won the Ontario High School Championship in 1992, but you dont see me throwing it all over town, do you?
Have LeClair and Amonte ended up anywhere yet? What about Zhamnov? Am I correct Roenick is heading to LA to clear space for Forsberg?

Leclair and Zhamnov havent gone yet, though multiple sources have Zhamnov going to the Bruins, who havent won the cup in 33 years….
The Wings message board has Rafalski rumours flying high. Fair replacement for Hatcher, but I think it'd mess our chances for getting Palffy if we're insistant on signing another goalie.
