i agree w/ pb&j, neko and yeah yeah yeahs and jarvis.

i need to pick up mos def. and need to listen all the way through to anco.

however, dirty projectors = h8. they opened for um… i can't even remember now, and it was not enjoyable at all.

as an aside - i need to listen to drake. mainly due to my undying love for all things degrassi.
just heard that thom is writing the new album . . . which will be out by december.

if you're taking about thom yorke, there have been rumors of "The Eraser 2" floating about since may.  the chatter died down, i haven't heard anything about it recently - where did you read/hear this?

sirius xmu person . . . who clearly said it was radiohead.
Man…I've heard very few of those albums and only one of my top 5 (Antony) made the list. Guess I'm like…unhip…or something.

Dirty Projectors was a giant letdown and AC and GB got old fast. Mastodon's was boring and Neko Case's was just alright.
The new YLT is relaxing and dreamy. Great summer night disc.
The first three songs, at least.
phoenix is moving up my "band of the decade" list.  number five, with a bullet.  welcome.
?Uprising,? the brand-new Muse single is available in the United States today, August 4th.

Hear "Uprising" now: http://uprising.warnerreprise.com/

Buy "Uprising" At iTunes now: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=325247924

"Uprising" is the first single from the band's upcoming album, The Resistance, which will be released in the United States by Warner Bros. Records on September 15th.
the new one from A Place to Bury Strangers leaked in the last day or two and it is tremendous. I absolutely love it.

some of the hipsters are going bananas over The Antlers new one, which got blown pretty well on Pitchfork yesterday, but I find it pretty boring.

top 3 for the year are still holding at Fever Ray, Mastodon and Mos Def
Master Musicians of Bukkake - Totem One

This is a must-have for anyone into the bands mentioned in the following review. Plus, they have the greatest band name since Aids Wolf:
"First things first: yes, that is the name of this band and no, it is not a soundtrack to some new pornographic film. Instead, this is the second album from
Seattle-based collective, which features members/collaborators of Sun City Girls, Earth, Sunn O))), Secret Chiefs 3 and Grails. This album definitely comes across as a clusterfuck of the styles of the mentioned acts, mixing psych-rock, drone and tribal world music, this sounds like the peyote-fueled ragas of a scuzzy desert cult searching for water and the Fountain of Youth. Seriously, if you are a fan of psychedelic rock, drone or anything with a tribal
atmosphere, this very well may be your album of the year."

Vivian Girls' new one just leaked.

Good looks on the APTBS.
New Brendan Benson is top notch and the new Shazam should be arriving soon also….
The Bottle Rockets - Lean Forward

anyone heard it yet?  looks like it's getting good reviews
If youre into that whole RJD2/DJ Shadow sound, you should give Paul White's "The Strange Dreams Of Paul White" a shot.

I'm going to catch hell for this, as I always do when I discuss Radiohead, but unlike most artists who go through a self-indulgent sophomore album that is always focused on inner-turmoil, Radiohead saved their self-indulgenices for the second half of their career. It never ends with them.

vansmack . . . they're the new beatles (ducks).  they are so wacky; you just can't predict what they'll do next!
Banco de Gaia's latest release, "MEMORIES DREAMS REFLECTIONS" is a double CD which encapsulates everything that Toby's sound has evolved from, and into, over the past two decades. Featuring new tracks, remakes and overhauls of widely favoured classics including remixes of Hawkwind, King Crimson, and not at all in the least, a stellar twenty two minute remake of the legendary Pink Floyd ensemble, "Echoes", illustrates in painstaking detail the history of the Banco de Gaia act.

release date Sept 18, track samples: http://triskelemanagement.com/promotion/mdr/
