Om - God is Good is interwebbing.
This will dictate whether I leave DC9 after the Six Organs set for Lucero or stick around.
Promising so far.
Edit: Enjoying this a lot. Adding the dude from Grails on drums makes their pallet much more diverse musically. Al's lyrical content about death and the middle east and biblical references is getting tired, though.

This made me throw up in my mouth a little. Not because of Beck but because of that terrible hack Devendra and those blog-hype darlings whose 15 minutes I thought were up.

Hear Massive Attack's Collaboration With Tunde From TV on the Radio
Massive Attack's new EP Splitting the Atom is out October 6 in the U.S. (October 5 in the UK) via Virgin. That's the surprisingly colorful cover up there. The EP features vocals from Horace Andy, Martina Topley-Bird, and Elbow's Guy Garvey.
Now, you can listen to the release's marquee collaboration, the near-seven-minute "Pray for Rain" featuring TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe. It's dark, it's epic, it's as apocalyptic as you want it to be:

wait, i thought the jonas brothers were doing the same thing. artistic puberty?
Miley Cyrus finding her voice on new EPNew York ? It's only been a year since Miley Cyrus released her first official studio album, "Breakout." But the 16-year-old says in that time she's found her voice as an artist ? and that's reflected on her new EP.
"I think I've been able to give myself more say. I think at first I was a little more afraid of what I could and what I could not say," the singer and actress said before performing at the "VH1 Divas" concert Thursday night.
"The Times of Our Lives," released last month exclusively at Walmart, features the hit tune "Party In the U.S.A.," which is currently No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The album includes songs about love and relationship drama.
Cyrus says she's growing as a musician and a woman ? and she's not afraid to show it.
"I think about it anytime I write a song, I'm like, "Why can't I say that? Why can't you say what you feel?" the "Hannah Montana" star asked.
"There shouldn't be an age or a certain kind of cookie-cutter way of doing things. You can say what you want to. It's about being an artist. That's what an artist is."

And in non-teenage pole dancing "singer" news:
the new Mission of Burma, The Sound, The Speed, The Light is as raucous and dissonant as their live shows. Me likey.

The sound collaginess of this Broadcast EP/mini-album reminds me so much of Black Foliage-era OTC. Especially the subtle shifts between noisy instrumental pieces and more traditional pop songs (of which there are very few). I keep expecting a tight Hart/Doss vocal harmony to jump out at me out of nowhere.
It's also a recording that demands for lossless sound quality/good headphones before the listener can get the full scope of what's going on in most of it.

Another one for BookerT (you probably have it already):
Psychedelic Horseshit - Too Many Hits 2x7"
"The final installment of CDRSCY1! Is Psychedelic Horseshit - Too Many Hits. It is in 2x7" format and has 10 songs. It is, in a lot of ways the follow up
to Magic Flowers Droned. Each gatefold sleeve is hand signed w/ the subscribers name… the whole nine yards. We really pulled out all the stops on this
one to have a great finale to the CDRSCY1! Singles club."

"Ever Sit Down on a Box Set and Have an Orgasm? Well, Now You Can with Rammstein?s Latest!
This week, Rammstein released a new album titled Liebe Ist Für Alle Da ("Love Is There for Everyone"). Who gives a shit about Rammstein, right?? WRONG. Not only did these crazy
German pervs recently release a video for first single "Pussy" on
adult website Visit-x
? which appropriately features a chick rubbing her poon, another sucking off some dude?s throbbing gristle, and a high-arc cum shot that ker-splats on
a to-be-lusted-over blonde?s ass ? they?ve also released a box set version of the album that rivals The Smashing Pumpkins? Aeroplane Flies High as the
best box set ever!
Scheduled for release later this year, the set features a special-edition version that contains the full album, five extra tracks, and blah, blah, blah,
who gives a shit about the actual music, etc. The real draw? THE SEX TOYS. Yes, dear TMT reader, the set, housed in a metal flight case, comes with handcuffs,
lubricant, and SIX pink dildos. This means you can have one up your ass, one in your vag, one in your mouth, and still have three leftover to stick in
friends and family! Not quite ready to stick a fatty dildo up your turd-shooter? Don?t worry! Rammstein have included dildos of various sizes, so if you
think, say, dildo #5 looks rather tasty, it wouldn?t be a bad idea to sit on #4 first and work your way up. The best part? The dildos are apparently sized
according to the band members? members, so now you can practice all you want before Rammstein passionately deflowers you in person.
Now this is how you stay relevant! Ball?s in your court, Vampire Weekend."

This ^ is hysterical! Wonder if they identify the 'members'? If so, I wonder how the runt of the litter feels about that?
Got to admit, this gives a whole new meaning to the name 'Rammstein'. :o
Btw, no I won't be buying it.

Um…you might wanna read the update on that link to Jim's blog entry. There's still no release date set. The info in the fake video was picked up by numerous sources, which is where DeRogatis got that information from.
"Them Crooked Vultures have confirmed November 16th in the UK and November 17th in the US and Canada as the release date of its self-titled debut album."
