That reminds me when I saw Morrissey in Key West and he was singing "Shoplifters of the World Unite" and about 20 people rushed the stage during the line "a heartless hand on my shoulder, a push and it's over" and BAM, that was it, show's over.

Morrissey regrettably had to end his show at Boston's Bank Of America Pavillion last night after 30 minutes due to a throat infection that made it impossible for him to continue. The audience of almost 5000 strong experienced a fantastic opening 7 numbers that included classics The Queen Is Dead and The Last Of The Famous International Playboys. In the intro to National Front Disco Morrissey explained to the audience that he was ill and said "unfortunately it will not just be the emotions cracking tonight but my voice as well." Three songs later he was unable to continue and the show came to a cose. Morrissey was seen by a doctor immediately and put under strict orders not to sing for 3 days. As a result the shows in Northampton, Mass tonight and Philadelphia on Friday night have also been postponed. It is hoped that new dates will be announced for each city in the next 48 hours. All tickets will be honoured for the new dates. The tour will continue in New York at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night as scheduled.

uh oh.. if he only plays 20 mins in MSG and leaves ill be pissed. im also now debating paying $75 to see the cure there. man the prices are steep but its the f'ing cure! oohhh what to do. so many concerts :(

He'll be fine by Saturday, and he'll slog through the show even if he isn't. It's going to be recorded (video) just like the hollywood bowl show as the signature gigs of this leg of the tour for a new DVD, and even if he sounds like shite they'll just overdub the vocals from a different date. In any case, it's Saturday night in NYC it's not like there's nothing else to do.

And for the record your Cure tix are worth every freakin penny, no worries there, you'll get your money's worth and then some.

I'm hoping he doesn't cancel on Tuesday! That would put a damper on the week. (but it's okay b/c Wed, I'm leaving for Cedar Point to ride roller coasters)

that place is straight up totally awesome, just make sure you go with someone you dont mind standing in 3 hour lines with all weekend. :)

i'm actually hoping monday's show at wolf trap is postponed … monday is going to be hell on earth for me …

I've been going there since I was little. But, I haven't been in six years! going with the family and my husband, who are always fun to hang out w/ in line.

Tomorrow's NYC show is postponed as well.

yes according to Pollstar, a decision about further dates will be announced on Monday. So we won't know til Monday whether the concert is happening at Wolf Trap that night (or even in Baltimore on Tuesday). Guess we'll all just have to stay tuned …. Here's the blurb:

Feeling a bit under the weather Morrissey has postponed tomorrow night's Madison Square Garden show.
The singer fell ill earlier this week while performing in Boston. In addition to the Garden date, Morrissey was also forced to postpone shows in Northampton, Mass., and Philadelphia.
At this time Morrissey's people are trying to rescheduled the missed shows, and plan on making an announcement this upcoming Monday.

this is absurdly annoying. i'm planning a lot of stuff around trying to make it to the show on Monday, and if he doesn't let us know until Monday morning that the show is canceled i'm going to be really pissed off
