If this is the case, I can't help but wonder where is he going to play in DC? How much are tickets? and Will there be a pre-sale? I just can't wait for him to comeback and play. I saw him last time and it was just wonderful.
Last time, he played at DAR. Tickets for the orchestra seats were about 60 bucks, after ticketmaster. I thought the sound kinda sucked, but it also didn't matter b/c it was Morrissey.

Personally, I'm hoping for a summer Merriweather show this time around, but I don't think that will happen.
The sound sucks at DAR regardless. I hope to God he comes to S. Florida, I'll even plant some Gladioli(sp?) in my garden in preparation!!!

If Badly Drawn Boy has not sold out….go see him, he's very entertaining and talented, but don't expect a polished, co-ordinated performance, that's not his thing.
I dont know where he's gonna play, but I do know that I'll be there, I saw him in '04 and it was a great great show, opening with how soon is now? and closing with theres a light that never goes out…

i don't agree with that. i've been to DAR over a dozen times now, and my acoustic experiences there have generally been positive. i've always had decent seats (front half of orch or box number below 24) so maybe sound is worse at the back of the hall where reflection might be more of an issue - dunno, can't tell ya. but to date i have no complaints about sound at DAR.
I'm with the one person about Merriweather. That would be rather nice, but for some reason I get the feeling he'll play something like DAR or Warner Theatre. He is into those sorts of places.

oh i know. i was so there.
Everytime I have been to DAR (with the exception of Kids in the Hall), I have either been in the front or in the box seats, and every time, the sound has been subpar.
Every time I've been to DAR the sound has been fine. Maybe it's not the sound thats bad, maybe its the bands that you see.
*Zing!

It was only a matter of time before some chump came up with that one….
I can speak with some knowledge (since I've actually mixed quite a few shows there) and say that DAR is not highly regarded by most audio engineers. It was designed in the pre-amplified sound era and is highly reflective (marble, glass ceiling, plaster walls) so louder SPL shows tend to not sound so great there IMHO.
Thank you.
I have a feeling that they're going to announce the show for DC next week. The website has been updated a few times and so far, only half of the tour dates have been announced. also, tickets will go on sale on march 31st.
I've been to several shows at DAR (Morrissey, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Wilco, Pearl Jam) and the sound has always been fine..
29 cities announced - NYC is closest

yes, but the tour is a 40 date tour. if you notice NYC isn't until the very end of June. What has been announced thus far only goes up to the very beginning of June. It wouldn't make much sense to have such a huge gap in between dates, thus the reason I'm thinking there are more dates to be announced.
Morrissey needs to be shot. He is bad for your soul.
Atlantic Records has developed an advanced electronic security tag that prevents heterosexual men from walking out of a store with a James Blunt CD.

Your point of view is respected. Now go back to listening to your Britney Spears CD…
Morrissey is not coming to DC. He is coming to VA and MD, though:
Mon July 2 VIENNA, VA : Wolf Trap
Tue July 3 BALTIMORE, MD : Rams Head

As a VA resident, I think I'm headed for Wolf Trap.

Does anyone have presale info? Tickets are on sale March 31, but seat location is pretty important at Wolf Trap.
