Sleater-Kinney roll call

It's nice of the band to double back to DC from NYC after their show at Webster tonight. They will then have to rush to Chicago to make their Lolla date the following night.

(And actually, I heard that the transformers blew right around the time that Corin was doing her vocal warm-ups. Coincidence?)
Miss Fortune you're talking about the first LF in 2000 right? That WAS memorable! That wasn't the only killer cover, Sweat Leaf at SXSW 05, the Versus cover when they played together at the Black Cat in 99, but my fave was Like a Virgin in Paris w/ Sonic Youth a few weeks before LF I.
Thanks a lot, guys – and thanks to the band, too. One more reason why I'm happy to have the 9:30 Club and sad that we'll no longer have Sleater-Kinney.
Hey this is Lars, an intern at NPR helping out with the webcast. Barring any trouble (and I don't know that we'd have any), NPR.org/music will webcast the rescheduled show.
So which band member would you most want to sleep with?
I'm glad that they are rescheduling. Hooray for SK for coming to NYC tonite and then coming down again tomorrow for DC!!! :)

From the SK website:
The DC show that was shut down by the Fire Department will be rescheduled for this Thursday, August 3rd. Doors at 7:30 pm, S-K will start at 9. Check back here for more details or go to www.930.com

:) :) :)

Eddie and thatguy,

Thanks for making it a priority to let the board know about the rescheduling plans. I imagine you both had better things to do a few hours after the club was evacuated. I knew when the show was cancelled that there would be a timely and professional response from the staff, as there always is.
Ditto. And just to jump on the bandwagon of thanking the club…I thought it was handled very well, considering how bad things could have been. And duh of course, thanks to S-K.
I concur that the club and patrons made the best of a bad situation. The heat makes everyone docile.

Disappointing, but I did enjoy the Rogers Sisters set quite a bit. And I had had such a day of bad luck and random happenings that a show cancellation due to a freak transformer issue really didn't surprise me at all. Looking forward to the reschedule.
One of the people I bought tickets for threw out their stub during the rogers sisters so hopefully there's a way for the stubless to get in.
Just so everybody is clear, while the entire incident really stinks, big ups to Sleater-Kinney for working so diligently and helping us get to this resolution.

Does anyone know how this has worked in the past? I managed to lose my stub last night too, but I bought my ticket online so in theory I have some "proof of purchase".

(Edit: Add me to the list of people impressed with how well last night's evac went.)
I just wanted to say I've been anticipating this show for AGES, having followed SK for …years now - but never, not ever been able to get to a concert (although I really, REALLY tried). When the announcement came that the show was cancelled I just stood there with my mouth opened (then left, 'cause there's no use in getting blown up by the transformer if I'm not gonna get to see SK!) …needless to say, however, I was pretty upset…I actually woke my boyfriend at about 4 am saying, "I can't believe they cancelled the show!"

But I am so, so, so SO thankful to Sleater-Kinney and the 9:30 folks for rescheduling and making it THIS WEEK. I leave town on Saturday and if I had missed them forever…

Man. I don't wanna think about it.

Thanks to the 9:30 club for being professional and courteous, and for rescheduling so promptly. You guys rock, and have earned my loyalty for future shows.

Thanks to Sleater-Kinney for finding a way to make it happen and rescheduling, and for just being the best fucking band in the world…you ladies rock!

I can't WAIT for tomorrow's show… :)
Just to echo everybody's sentiments, 9:30 club comes through in the clutch once again. Huge thanks to everyone involved (especially the band!) who is going to make this happen. I too have been looking forward to this show the day it was announced on S-K's website and tomorrow night should be an amazing experience!
I can't fault the club for erring on the side of caution and evacuating everybody. After that awful fire in Rhode Island a couple years back….
Can't wait for tomorrow's show. The only down side is I am going to have to miss the Clientele at Iota
The short DJ set between the Rogers Sisters and the cancellation announcement was pretty sweet.
I wasn't at the show last night, and I just read about the cancellation on craigslist this morning, and was very surprised.

I just wanted to say that by the sound of it, 930 was put in a very tight situation ,and they took care of it in an efficient, timely, and mature manner. The fact that they not only evacuated a sold out club in a timely fashion, but then had the sheer respect for their customers to update them on the situation extensively within 12 hours is just awesome.

Many props to everybody invovled, and I just wanted to say that this is just another reason why we're really lucky to have the club, guys. It's one of the best in the country, for this reason and many others. I know many other clubs that wouldn't have handled the situation this well.
Miss Fortune you're talking about the first LF in 2000 right?
Thats the one.
Since I complained before, I want to say that I'm REALLY happy about this turn of events, and it didn't occur to me they might honor the ticket stubs (which I am very glad to say I kept). I think I can even make it into DC for Thursday night.

BUT… can somebody from the club just say again why we can hope that the same thing won't happen on Thursday? It *is* scheduled to be that hot, and I don't understand how you can change the physical transfomer/power supply that quickly.

A massive diesel powered generator has already been rented and is powering the club.
