"A massive diesel powered generator has already been rented and is powering the club."
That answers my question. Great work, guys! (Just keep it fueled!!!)
I agree with others. It was incredibly frustrating to have the show canceled, but the club handled the situation outstandingly and the evacuation went quite well, considering. I admit I was one of the laggards and took enough time to finish my beer, but I didn't understand the hazard issue from the burning fumes at the time.
The crowd deserves a lot of credit for not doing anything stupid.
And it is great news that S-K will be back tomorrow. Thursday night temperatures may be a little cooler, but there could be thunderstorms around. But on diesel power, even if lightning strikes and blacks out Pepco, so what. Just keep that generator happy.

Can someone from the club give an idea of what to do if we don't have our ticket stubs. I think I dropped mine as the club was being activated. I paid by credit card, if that makes any difference.

Thanks for all the information! I'm really glad I'll be able to make it to the show.
You all handled it really well.

If that's true - it's great!

You misspelled "nauseating." And I'm not a big SK fan, wasn't at the show, and don't post here very much. But it's not nauseating – it's a tribute to the professionalism of the staff. The 930 may be the best club in the country. It's my favorite place to see live music, ever.
We're lucky to have it, we're lucky that they have staff of the caliber that they do, and it's not nauseating to say so.
Things would be a whole lot worse for the SK fans if the show had been at another venue. I have the highest regard for the club and the people who work there. They could act like assholes, but they never do.

I don't know if this helps your particular situation or not, but I called the Box Office earlier today and the person who answered told me that if you ordered online you could bring either your confirmation e-mail or the 'receipt' ticket that has your name and address on it, ALONG WITH your photo ID and you can get in. (Might want to bring everything you have just to be safe.)

We get free schwag based on how much ass we kiss. At the end of July, my sycophancy score was 43. Once I gush it up to 50, they send me a coupon for a free draft or rail drink.

as i was leaving last night, the pepco crew had prepped the old transformer for removal and were awaiting the arrival of the new one. the actual power should be restored by now even if we weren't using the generator. to continue the love fest, the police, fire department, and pepco were all on the ball last night as well.

Really? I mean is that the world we live in now? You have to give people credit for not doing things they aren't supposed to do to begin with?
This is why my eight-year old and I can't see eye to eye on so many things. It's because he thinks that rather than being upset with him for not making his bed I should just be happy that he didn't color on the wall.
Its like that Chris Rock video where he talks about giving people credit for s*** they are supposed to do but often people don't so my expectations are low.
I appreciate the club and the band doing everything reasonably possible to correct a bad situation caused by a power company's bad transformer. Normally a show would be rescheduled weeks or months later even cancelled. The club is using another power source even though its probably the power companys responsibilty to fix the problem.
S-K had planned not to play another show outside of Portland after friday so they are playing tomorrow and have somehow have found a way to get their gear 700 miles to chicago the next day.
People who throw away their ticket stubs need to be a little more careful. I have been going to shows for years and always keep my ticket stub because you never know what could happen.
