Sleater-Kinney roll call

swing by the club sat while the wreckers are playing… this mod will be selling ticket stubs out of his trunk with the stand commission going to eddie, thatguy and shadrach :)

yup awesome show and it was great to finally see them as a headliner in a club… it was also the first time in a long time i witnessed a real encore occur and give props the audience for not simply leaving after the band finished the first encore and staying put and demanding they come back for more! maybe we can start a new trend in dc…
amazing show, lackluster crowd until the very end.
If you didn't get your stub back stop by the club while we are open and we can give you one. What had happened was…I gave the guys a bunch to hand out and then had to temporarily lock up the office. So when they ran out some of you were left in the lurch. If you really want to send a SASE then that is fine too. Sorry for the further hassle during what turned out to be a great show.

yea, that's what i get for being near the front. that and i don't think the staff was supposed to be handing them out to everybody, only the people who request them. no worries, i will be bidding on ebay tonight ;)

i was near the front and got one, no problem. he had a stack of them.
Just curious, how many times have you seen Sleater-Kinney?? (this is for everyone).

This was my 19th time and was one of the best!
The proliferation of GGWannabes is really starting to become troublesome….

I got my stub back. They were handing them out as we left. And agree all around with the praise. Fantastic, fantastic show.

Sorry I didn't see anyone, but I did run into an imposter GGW. I haven't seen him in a while, and walked up to a tall gentleman with curly hair. He looked like he was going to punch me when I addressed him as GGW. Then, I think I may have seen him later on, but was too nervous about another awkward encounter.

I was also standing next to that imposter Nuge that's been running around town…

thanks eddie!

damn, 19 times. this was only my 2nd. first was last year at arthurfest in L.A. that was good too but being outdoors, the sound was nowhere near the quality as the 930 club.
There were none of the usual suspects DJing last night as the band was controlling the music between sets. Didn't hear all of it but liked the nice selection of punk, soul and girl group that were choosen. At one point I was startled by a really favorite soul track of mine, thinking wow I could have selected that one.
As I have just recently left DC, I have been reading all of this S-K stuff from afar. However, I just want to chime in that this just further cemented in my mind that the 930 club is the best run concert venue you will ever find. Kudos to Eddie, ThatGuy, Shadrach, Seth, etc. for how you all handled the situation. I'm sure it wasn't easy having so many issues to handle between the band's schedule, ticket stubs, getting the power back on, and so on.

I will miss going to the club on a regular basis. I hope everyone on this board realizes what a great asset the 930 club is to live music in DC. (stepping down from my soapbox now)
anyone have a setlist from last night??

what is this 42 of which you speak? i bow to your skills of being the quickest clicker in the west with an advance degree in cutnpaste :)
We used to see a version of GGW who like us, parked at SPringfield Mall to save the $3.75 Metro parking fee and walked to Springfield Metro. My wife also once saw him walking on K Street downtown. He had hair parted in the middle and feathered, and drove a little sports car. My wife said he had an ass like her Dad's. He wore an ipod daily, and I couldn't help but think he was listening to something really smokin', like perhaps the first Boston album. We called him "little GGW". Then one day we stopped seeing him and we've never seen him since. I reckon perhaps he moved on the greener pastures.
Or, like any good businessman, ggwâ?¢ eliminated the competition…

Wow, they played all of the Woods :)
I now have much greater appreciation for the Woods, even though sometimes I think to myself, there was some serious cockfighting or turkeys being killed while they're recording the album ;)

19! Impressive… Most impressive.

Only four times for me:

2002/10/20 Sleater-Kinney/The Quails/V for Vendetta @ 9:30 Club
2004/04/22 Sleater-Kinney/The Thermals @ 9:30 Club
2005/06/25 Sleater-Kinney/Dead Meadow @ 9:30 Club
2006/08/03 Sleater-Kinney/French Toast @ 9:30 Club
:D

Ecellent show!! Thanks to the club and to S-K for making it happen. And thanks for the second encore!!! A wonderful goodbye to a kickass band.

BTW, any idea who the little one was on stage?
terrific show (aside from the jerk who talked through the first few songs).

Definitely one of the best shows I've ever seen. And I'm so glad to be listening to it now.
Excellent show. I don't know why that band is going on hiatus, they're at the top of their game. Corin looked so happy and peaceful up there. They didn't look like a group that was just itching to give it up.
