In Which I Share With You the Best Song that Played as I Grocery Shopped

Thurs 9/13 Giant

Camera Obscura-Lloyd, I'm Ready to Be Heartbroken
Fri 9/14 Giant

John Fogerty-The Old Man Down the Road
how many times a week are you in a grocery store?
I was thinking the same thing yesterday

Whole Foods maybe two or three times a week, Same for Giant. Maybe more if i need a special ingredient. Trader Joes maybe once a month. Probably the same for my wife.

How many times for you?
Geez dude…so 5 times a week at grocery store at a minimum

You are doing it wrong…on the other hand you probably go there for free entertainment
Sunday 9/16, Giant

The GoGos-Head Over Heels
The Cure-Lovesong

I was also at Whole Foods but they don't play the music loud enough to actually hear what it is.

Hearing the GoGos reminded me of my college roommate who got really pissed when cute chubby GoGo Belinda mutated into skinny Belinda. He was so offended.

It's  actually two or three times a week (not five) because Whole Foods and Giant are right next to each other and when i hit one i also hit the other. And if you're shopping on a Saturday, you may not know what you want to make on a Thursday, or maybe you want to wait until Thursday so you know the produce is at it's freshest.  It's not like I live 10 miles from the nearest grocery store. Each of them are within walking distance of my house, and i drive by both on the way home four days a week.
Ok my bad…2-3 times a week is not bad

Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s are the first grocery stores I recall having decent music

i typically only hit the grocery store once a week, maybe twice.

on saturday, they played Manic Monday.  my inner OCD was going insane.

How close are you to the nearest grocery store? I picture you being miles away.

Growing up, we lived in a number of places, way out in the country. Always a good eight miles from the grocery store. We probably went grocery shopping once a week. In one place we lived, we also lacked a washer and dryer. I remember the laundromat was next door to the grocery store. We'd go grocery shopping while doing our laundry…I'd get a pack of baseball or football cards and come back and peruse all the statistics on the back until the laundry was done. Good times.

it's a 6 mile drive into town.  we're about 3 miles down a small, winding country road and a third of a mile down a gravel road so it can feel isolated but in reality we're not that far out.  i drive into civilization every day for work so i potentially could shop ever day but i'd much rather stock up and get it over with once a week.

i feel this does a lot to explain your current career… ;D
My groceries are delivered so it's whatever I have on at the time….
9/20 Giant

Wings-Band on the Run

Don't worry, I wasn't grocery shopping on company time. My wife tells me I should do housework and grocery shopping during telework time, but I say no way. I just stopped and bought groceries on the way home from the doctor. Totally legit.
God I hate Wings….

I agree, to a degree. Was only in the store for two songs and can't even remember the other one. I would have skipped posting it but didn't want y'all to think I was slacking on the shopping front.
Yes yes by all means carry on….forum’s #1 thread baby!

Wonderful Christmastime makes me want to wage war on Christmas!
Technically not a wings song, I always thought it was because of the video
Although the members of Wings are not on the recording, they do appear in the promotional music video

it is estimated that McCartney makes $400,000 a year from this song, which puts its cumulative earnings at a little over $15 million

On the other hand ….live and let die…..oh wait that one has the horribly annoying “what does it matter to you” bridge
