On the other hand ….live and let die…..oh wait that one has the horribly annoying “what does it matter to you” bridge

GnR breathed a little new life into that one two

I am always amazed that playlists that are automatically created by AI continue to include this song because it's a McCartney song with no credence paid to the time of year.  It's fucking not even November and I don't need to hear that song!

It's a simple script to save humanity.
Belinda Carlisle - Heaven is a place on earth

Execrable song
My wife asked me to pick some stuff up on the way home from work Friday night, and of course I happily obliged, awaiting with wonder as to what tunes Giant had in store for me.

Alas, the first song I couldn't decipher. So the next and last song was the winner. Though not her best shot, it may have been her biggest hit.

Fun Fact, Pat Benatar grew up in Lindenhurst Long Island NY (graduated 71)
birth last name… Andrzejewski  (kinda see why she decided to keep her ex husbands last name)
She never ever admits being from there…always said NY or NYC
(although I did just find out she did something with the lindenhurst choir in 2008)

Momma Sidehatch had her in homeroom when she was pregnant with baby Sidehatch
I think she first made it in Richmond

Love is a battlefield is a great tune…but maybe her last truly great one unless we count invincible or le bel age….by the time we belong came out it was all over but the birchmere

I did not know any of that. Your mom had you while she was a student in high school? Fascinating!
This is so poorly written sidehatch…very on brand!!

I'm not sure if this post belongs in the Just Announced thread or in this one.

I'm going grocery shopping tonight. Stay tuned for a new post. Unfortunately, I'll probably have to take my kid, who will no doubt decide she wants to explore the store on her own and find stuff that I would never ever buy and insist that she needs it. Then I'll likely let her pick out one thing, and I'll get to the checkout line and have to stand around waiting until she reappears. Then we'll go home and eat the Papa John's that she's been insisting on for a while now and I finally gave in (because although we do have leftover Ledo's that my wife have in on ("I don't do leftovers.", thanks to the 50% off Nats win and score 7 or more offer.
not sure that stream of consciousness post needed to go anywhere…but we're here to listen

not a grocery store but some hipster diner that looks like it was from the 50's but is 2 years old
in Penn Quarter at the bottom of the Pod hotel

a pretty well curated sound track played whilst I ate my sausage biscuit

sweet jane - cboy junkies
Junkyard Julie - The Rosewood Thieves (never heard of them …thanks shazam)
Beyond Belief - Elvis  (one of may all time favorites by him)
In the name of Love - Nouvelle vogue
Santa Cruz - JJ Cale
While inclusiveness is usually a virtue, I'm not sure that the playlist of a hipster diner qualifies for this thread. We *expect* to hear good music at a hipster diner, we don't expect it when we're grocery shopping.

But since you've indirectly raised the issue, doesn't a good playlist make a huge difference in the quality of a dining or drinking experience?
I think this should have gone on the Upcoming Grocery Store Trip thread.. Space! Don’t clutter the board’s top thread please!
this thread was a slow burn, but at this rate could take out Just Announced some time soon

It was a bit much that early in the morning, tbh
Twinbrook?

You live almost as far out in the hinterlands of Fairfax County as Space.

Not the MoCo Twinbrook Safeway?
Yes, yes. Twinbrook MoCo.
Just like Maryland to steal names from Virginia…
still…outside the beltway = hinterlands
