Geezus one fantastic song after another.

I think KC and the Sunshine Band gets an undeserved bad rap. They were a great funk band for a while but everyone lumps them in with disco and poo poos them. And I like disco but they weren’t just disco.

If hutch didn't sell you on KC&TSB, watch this video.

"Get Down Tonight" on Don Kirschner's Rock Concert, 1977. Much faster and louder (especially the bass) than the single. KC, the singers and the horn section do a line dance routine in the middle that allows the rhythm section to take over. It's not mere disco, it's Party Evangelism. KC gets everyone standing and dancing before it's all over.
True story, I lived in Chapel Hill for a year in the 90's and got my hair cut at the same salon as KC. Never saw him though.

Though I did once see Jon Wurster in line behind me at Fresh Market, and once went on a blind date with Ryan Adams's ex-girlfriend (she was housemates with my friend's sister.) Oh, and I saw Ric Flair at my Gold's Gym…he was a the owner….

I call bullshit on you getting your haircut at a salon, and dating a blind girl, although it would make sense.

He’s told this story a few times…with I think different people involved!
I wish a Mountain Goats song had come on at the Fresh Mart and I had remarked to Wurster  "Hey there's a band in need of a drummer upgrade, " but it was 1997 and I don't know if they even existed at that point.
What band?

Mountain Goats. They actually did exist prior to 1997. I  thought they did as I seen to recall hearing them on college radio in the 90s.
Well yeah but wasn’t a “band” per se

Just John strumming a guitar

Yup. I know he's respected and all, but I've always hated his voice, just him or with band. Ironically or maybe not ironically, I always felt the same about Mac from Superchunk. But both did quite alright without my support.
OMG I loved John until he got a band.
