now that the lolla line-up has been announced, any word on when the v-fest line-up will be available?
V Fest
Even money says Jimmmys Chicken Shack is on the bill.

are they the most popular rock band in the area?
Hoya, please be careful what kinds of ideas you throw around. Someone might just actually book them.
They headlined at Iota rather recently.

i'm guessing their fanbase consists of 20 and 30-somethings who grew up in between DC and MD, maybe went to Towson or UMCP/UMBC for school, maybe didn't, and never really left their hometown … the same ones you see in dewey and ocean city
it seems like there's a similar demographic of "young adults" (20 to 30-somethings) in northern virginia who grew up in fairfax, went to radford or JMU or something, and stayed in their hometown … but it doesn't seem like the virginians move to maryland or vice-versa, and they DEFINITELY don't move into DC proper
i'm guessing these are the people who vote for Junk Food or Gonzo's Nose as the best local band in those annual washpost polls
does any of this make sense or is it way off base? not trying to be demeaning at all, just curious

back to the topic. i've been out of the loop the last couple of weeks. has an official list been published on who is performing for v-fest? right now that lolla line up is looking damn tempting with daft punk, interpol, pearl jam, snow patrol, and femi kuti. but i'd really like to support v-fest and seth listening to all our input on its lineup for close to a year!
and probably good charlotte as well…

didnt someone confirm sasha and digweed too?
Does anybody else just wish VFest would just go away, so you could just see the two or three bands you really want to see in a more intimate setting at a lower cost on separate days? (i.e. the Raconteurs last year, Amy Winehouse this year, etc.)

Originally posted by Charlie Nakatestes,Japanese Golfer:I don't wish it would "go away", but it does kinda stink that bands play it and it is considered their DC/B'more tour stop (e.g., The Police). There are a lot of cool things about festivals, but sometimes I'd rather see a band's full set in a slightly smaller setting.

i personally would rather see most bands i like in a larger setting with more people, more fun, more craziness.
smaller settings are cool for some bands. but i like the large setting just as much most of the time. plus you get to see 9 bands in one day instead of only 1 or 2 :)

For those who missed it, Seth confirmed Fountains of Wayne for day 1 in the Hey Seth thread.
and modest mouse was confirmed in the same thread
