I went in using ie and pulled 2 freetix using the freeagain pw right at 10:01.
FREEFEST 2011
Hey Chaz! Do you have an email from someone on staff stating that our site has issues with Firefox? I can't find any records of it. Perhaps you called?
Let me know and I will look into it. It is absolutely not the case.
Thanks!

Hey Guys-
Everyone at TFly HQ is on Firefox daily and we have no issues.
But your own support staff has stated that your site does not work with Ff.
*disclaimer* I did not even attempt to get tix to this event and I have never had a problem getting tix through ticketfly. But there are clearly browser compatibility problems that have been acknowledged by tech support at ticketfly. A highly embarrassing situation for an e-commerce company.

Swettcell got it. The text is in this thread:

More specifically, here.

Hey Guys-
It looks like people in this thread had Chrome/ IE issues with cookies as well. Cookie acceptance is something that a buyer could run into on any browser, on any e-commerce website.
right - but we don't. when was the last time amazon.com, or ticketmaster.com, or paypal.com, or sextoysandducttape.com, or any of the other sites you aspire to become, gave you a hiccup? if it was just one or two people having issues, fine. but hopefully you've gained an appreciation of the widespread nature of the problems with the website.
i appreciate the social media, the bundled marketing, the quick responsiveness, etc. but TF is first and foremost a ticket selling company. all the tweets in the world won't make up for a system that won't sell me a ticket. the issues TF is having aren't insurmountable - thousands of e-commerce websites process millions of transactions a day without the percentage of fall-out TF is experiencing. TF.com should not be having cookie problems, certainly not at the rate you're having them. IMO, time to focus resources on fixing the basics of your business. you shouldn't have to be writing a "ccokies management cheat-sheet". your techies should be fixing this.
fyi i work for a large IT consulting company. i've designed, built and tested several e-comm sites. we're not cheap but we're good. lemme know if you wanna bring us in… i've got a sales quota to make ;)

well, to be precise, they said that the site works better with IE, and if other browsers are giving me headaches that i should use IE instead.

I have to say Ticketfly you guys suck.. I know TFAMY will chirp in with some chirpy comment any minute but why the heck not have it work with Moxilla?
and thank goodness for Amy's chipper attitude. can you imagine if she came in here, in the same mood we all project? let's face it, people can act like spoiled brats in here. if i were in amy's shoes i'd sure be tempted to tell off the lot of ya :-*

Oh yes! We were testing continuously. I was able to grab tickets each time I went in, as a regular customer. Sometimes things just don't work on computers when we need them to?Nomeimporta wrote:
Ms. Amy: I'm not a techie but I never have issues buying TF tickets in IE or FF in a regular sale. (regular means, plenty of tickets, non-presale, a one off that tons of people aren't vying for…) Wasn't the source / ticket link slightly different? And did the staff at your office try the passwords through said link w/o employee profile / account signed on? (*asking in a non-mean-confrontational-curious-only way)
Wow I really hope that was not a serious response!
That's just the way she answers questions. Snarky or silly and unhelpful 98% of the time, with the theme being "sometimes that's just the way it goes!"
;)
What is the procedure to attempt to get tickets tomorrow? (link/time/etc)
just got mine with no problem. good things come to those who work at 10am for the first time in ticket buying history
Just checked a few minutes ago for the heck of it using the link posted on FB and pulled 2 free tickets. Looks like I don't have to try in the general sale after all. I'd give it a shot if you were shut out earlier.

thanks levimatthew…
i went in and got one of the $10 donation ones (two was not an option at least for me)…
TFAmy I will herewith spare you from our duel at sundown!
;D
NM I found it. As usual I was being stoopid.
how are you guys getting tickets this late?
uhh… by going to the FB page, following the like, entering a password, and requesting tickets?
the probably released a bunch just recently - declined credit cards (for $10 donation tix) and cancelled free tix due to going over the limit.

Nope, still shut out…
well, you're a little late to this (after) party… folks got in on the second batch an hour ago. i doubt very many were released.
Hutch- I am glad to hear I have been spared.
Sweet Cell- I sent you an email via the support address you wrote to. I'm getting to the bottom of the Firefox issue. We, at Ticketfly, do not recommend that everyone use Internet Explorer. I will clarify that once and for all.
Everyone else- Virgin posted some info for getting tickets tomorrow. Over on their Facebook page.

Yeah, every time I try to get a ticket in a heavy sale via TF.
I agree with others; while I appreciate TFAmy being polite in responses (and I hope others are in return) the response is somewhat patronizing b/c it doesn't fix a thing when the issues are consistent and for multiple users.
Sweetcell is right - we will always have complaints. Yet - some of the comments from buyers seem to contain valid issues, suggestions and even: solutions. I also appreciate TF testing things, but I wasn't the only one with issues, nor for the first time.
So if we are doing something wrong - please tell us before the sale not at 10:30, 11, etc.?
If it were 2001 and I was using dial up, maybe – but the response just doesn't fly, Amy. No pun! (sorry if I sound snarky…I'm not really mad. Just…the comment just seemed a bit…? It carried no responsibility when it clearly was not an isolated case.)
It's all good - I won't be going. (or trying for tickets tomorrow and no I'm not pouting.) Just letting go of it since this occurs show after show, year after year. Thanks for bringing the show tho, 930/MPP/Seth, bands and Virgin people. Have fun, everyone!
Ugh. Missed round two.

I got a question for you - why is it that when I follow your link, it pulls up the page and says "OH DEAR! There was a error while trying to load the page."
It looks like some folks have gotten tix in the past hour or so.
Tomorrow's gonna be like last year's fiasco all over again.
