In exchange for easing trade restrictions on wine, the American government agreed that California Champagne, Chablis, Sherry and a half-dozen other ‘semi-generic’ names would no longer appear on domestic wine labels – that is unless a producer was already using one of those names.

i am very much not down with the "brick chic" aesthetic.  no way FLW would approve of this.  keep the outdoors outdoors.

but someone dropped $250k thinks it might be…very odd as the name is just associated with nothing anyone wants to be associated with

I think he was expecting more tho

The eBay auction says that a portion of the proceeds of the sale will go toward restitution — but McFarland owes $26 million, so this $245,300 sale isn’t going to make much of an impact.
