also on their 19th day in a row of hitting 110*F or more, breaking their previous record of 18 days from 1974. forecast predicts nothing but 110+ for the next 9 days. must be a miserable place to live right now (more so than usual…)
phoenix is also out of water. they city is contemplating investing $5.5 billion (likely to end up costing way more) to
build a desalination plant at the top of the gulf of california in mexico, and a pipeline to carry the water to the city. sheer madness. at some point we're going to have to admit that we can't, and shouldn't, live in certain places - like the middle of a frikken desert.

Maybe also don’t lease what water supply you have to foreign companies to use on your land? Seems like a bad idea but what do I know.

Speaking of funnel shaped weather events
Tornado on top of a mountain
Possible free band name there
The damage survey along Pikes Peak is complete and the survey team found damage consistent with an EF-1 tornado with estimated winds up to 108 mph.

otis is a much more pressing concern… hopefully the folks in acapulco have time to get supplies and find shelter. storm went from tropical depression to Cat 4 in less than 24 hours, which is unheard of, and is expected to landfall as a Cat 5.
