Well..as I have said to me the most important band / most influential of the past 40 years is Joy Division / New Order

Heavenly clip of a wondrous song…thank you

This clip must drive Hooky crazy as he gets less camera time than even  Gillian

Stephen shows his pioneering metronomic drumming and Barney owns it…he gets little credit for his guitar work generally but I find few things do a better job of embodying post punk than his guitar

New Order during the transition from joy division to dance floor kings (1981-83) are fascinating

Barney’s book is a must read

500 hungarians playing "personal jesus"

the final mix doesn't contain much of the 500 other than vocals (note there are no mics on the drums), but those 500 are feeling it.  love the dude walking around with a balalaika.

I put that in the live thread yesterday. Super enjoyed that and his insta-live.

Also, Chino Hillshas come a long way since Ryan Atwood left for Orange County.
