Ok. A mentally-challenged slug could have figured out this was a joke link. Lennon died in what? 1980? 1981? And the Smiths didn't release their first single until 1983, didn't they?

i hate to take something i made up on a whim for a rick roll to its logical conclusions, and i'm sure mankie could give us a proper lesson if he wasn't at spin class, but morrissey was heavily involved in the manchester music scene in the late 70s, played with some random bands then and up to the founding of the smiths in 1982 … john lennon died on december 8, 1980

not that they had any reason to cross paths, but their landmark collaboration on a rough demo of a little tune i like to call "never gonna give you up" doesn't exactly defy the laws of space and time
