i've seen them play 3 or 4 times at pitt and thought their fans were assholes
and i'm a penn state fan, so i got no love for either
my issue with sawx fans is that they tend to also be "fans" of boston/new england teams in sports i care about. except they cant talk about the pats/bruins/c's without bringing up the stupid ass sawx

The best part about ND home games is you can openly root against the Irish and not have to worry about losing your life. 2007 was the best season EVER for ND haters living in northern Indiana.

I was going to say something similar. As a Domer, I'm a much different fan this past decade than I was the previous two decades (especially the 80's).

yeah, when you are quiet during an ND/Stanford game that says something, what with all those rabid Stanford fans. . .and Stanford should have won that game.

Wow, Brashear suspended for 6 games…one for the push during warmups and 5 for the late hit on Betts. I don't deny that a suspension was appropriate…but doesn't this seem excessive? Especially considering the hit that Avery gave to Jurcina with the butt of his stick with no penalty or discipline. I guess that's the cost of having your reputation preceed you.
The great part is that Tortorella sits Avery for a game for a lack of discipline, then the next game totally loses it, thows a water bottle into the stands and brandishes a stick at the fans.
Oh well….i think this suspension and all the whining the Rangers are doing to the league will only fire the Caps up more.

Yeah Brash doesn't bring much to the ice besides muscle, but that's not the point I'm trying to make.

honestly, i think the league just did the caps a favor. they don't need brashear. they needed him to change the tone of the series, which he did when they put him in there. now the caps can play the role of the infuriated, disrespected team, which was all the rangers had going for them into game 7. they can rally behind him, and all that shit, which will help lessen the pressure of "oh shit, we better not lose another game 7 at home!"

Now that's a charity I can get behind….
Back in the early 90's, I went to a Kentucky-USC basketball game at the LA Sports Arena and took a picture in my Kentucky garb with the SC song girls. The Kentucky cheer squad was so mad I did that that they insisted I take a picture with them because "we're hotter than they are." Who was I to argue without photo evidence.
The girl I was dating at the time (it was actually her basketball team that we were there with) was really unhappy with me (I'm sure my ear to ear grin did not help). I'll have to dig those pictures out at some point.
And back to hockey talk - Ducks 2-0 tonight, with an empty netter to make it 3-0.
