Nice! I didn't know it existed.

My Great Grandpappy Slappy used to say.
People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Here's one for you.
Create your own blog
You have a spot to put all the worthless things we should know!
slappy, could you please remind us when was the last time the Caps won the Stanley Cup? Penguins last did in in '92, i believe. luckily, i'm sure it hasn't been that long for the Capitals, right?
i have fond memories of watching the red wings hoist the stanley cup in dc, where there were probably more red wings fans in attendance than caps fans… and talk about tacky a good number of them left, not sticking around to watch the cup be presented…

i pretty much gave up watching live hockey after moving to dc, because the caps have this amazing ability to suck the talent out of any team they play and was never impressed with their fans either.
geez slappy, cry more

Let's get some things straight, I'm not goofing around because I think the Caps are greatest teams. I'm not even saying the Caps fans are the greatest.

I'm saying Pen's fans are generally a bunch of idiots. They can't be objective when it comes to the NHL. If they didn't get Mario back in the day there wouldn't be a Pittsburgh Penguins. They got lucky by getting Crosby to save the team again. (It could be said Ovechkin could be the Caps savior.)

Their fans have become overly cocky when this time last year the city almost lost the team. Remember just a few years ago when the Pen's sucked, they were in last place in attendance.

A team from the West will take the cup again this year anyway.

Yeah, it's so tacky not to watch the opposing team receive the cup.

real hockey fans would have stuck around to watch the rewarding of one of the most coveted trophys regardless of who was being awarded it… it's not like a event that happens everyday…

Yeah and the Pens would have continued to suck for another 3 to 4 years before they were moved to Florida, Dallas, or California.

Remember the Hartford Whalers?

Hey, I'm grateful we got Ovie and are building a team that will soon be a contender.
Ovechkin named NHL first star of week

Once you start learning the NHL doesn't revolve around the Pens the more respect you'll earn as fans.

Again…the irony.

You think it is ok to walk out of the Stanley Cup presentation

You can't respect greats like Mario & Sid

You start contributing by disparaging fans of other teams.

It is you who needs the lesson grasshopper.

Starring your 2008 Washington Capitals!!

but for pens fans, the game does revolve around the pens. good for them.

once you start sticking around to see the Cup being awarded to the league's champion - your team or not - the more respect you'll earn as a real NHL fan. only bandwagoners and cry-babies bail when their team loses the finals. a true hockey fan can appreciate the special moment that is the hoisting of the Cup, no matter who is underneath it.

sorry slappy, but it's getting harder and harder to take you seriously.
i just dont understand the relevance of a hypothetical situation a quater century ago. youre whole banter relies on lots of 'if'

It's an acute case of inferiority complexia

That's funny!
Tip: If you're attempting to dis Ovie to prove Crosby superiority. Don't use a picture of Ovie next to the Calder trophy that Crosby LOST.

Tip 2: It's hockey, not America's Top Model. I'll take Chelios and Brind'Amour on my team anyday. You seem to like Malkin even though he looks like Frankenberry.

Hey, if the shoe fits. I'm not continuing this thread on my own.
Funny you guys seem to forget about this time last year!

Pens' Pittsburgh Future Still Unsure

Were you actually at game 4 or did you mean on TV? I was at game 3 and had tickets for game 6 (which, of course, never happened).

What a crock that was - pure leverage to get a new arena. Do you really believe the Pens were ever going to KC?

Next you'll be telling me that the Steelers are moving to Columbia MD & they'll be playing in Merriweather. :D

You seem awfully obsessed with the past today Slappy. Nothing good to look forward to? Alex is already gearing up:

Ovechkin is a better golfer than Crosby. There. I said it. Happy now?

i was at verizon center for game 4, there were absolutely more red wings fans than caps fans. it was pretty neat to see the stanley cup awarded in person, and then they rolled out the dude in the wheelchair and he held the cup and it was kinda touching. konstantinov? kozlov? who knows?

i'll sell you that memory/story, kramer-peterman style, julian. how much you willing to give me for it?
