HOLY CRAP - NEW RADIOHEAD ALBUM 10/10/07
Just another thought - how much of this debate is generational as well?
I'm 24 - I feel like Radiohead is probably more significant to my generation than U2 is, just by virtue of what we've grown up with.

And Last.fm doesn't go back to 2004 when U2 released their last (awful) album. Otherwise I'd check for you.
But look at any given week - I've cycled through probably 10-12 at this point - and I have yet to see one where U2 is ahead of Radiohead.
With the exception of new album week, you likely won't find one because Last.FM does not represent the masses. It represents audiophiles, and there is no doubt in my mind that Radiohead are oogled by audiophiles to a much greater level than U2.
people who love music love Radiohead, people who dont, love U2 or Puddle of Mudd, or Boys Like Girls.
Ever.
Do you go to the lot & see Yugos sold alongside an Infiniti or Ferrari???? Me thinks not.
BTW, G.G.Dubya - The Director doth thinketh thou is fire today with your divine postings . . .

I'm lovin' the united front here. You're a great man.
Originally posted by TheDirector217:Ha! I don't know that I ever stated them as fact - I'm pretty careful to make statements on music fairly subjective. But fair enough - I'll keep my hyperbole to myself.

Originally posted by callat703:the part that bothers me, is i think some ppl, not necessarily ppl on here though, actually refuse to enjoy it just because its a Radiohead album.
It is interesting - I feel sorry for somebody who doesn't love this as much as I do.
Originally posted by vansmack:wow, seems that people other than 930 bboardees are qualifying the release of this album as "revolutionary".
Originally posted by callat703:Again, that's not about the music itself, that's about the record industry and Radiohead's attempt to change the status quo.

Make it sound like "Nice Dream"
Radiohead new album: 'In Rainbows' remixes hit the web
Remixers are already tackling Thom Yorke and co's new stuff
Remixes of tracks from 'In Rainbows', the new Radiohead album released yesterday (October 10), have started to appear online.
Dance producer Mojib has remixed 'Videotape', the final track of 'In Rainbows'.
Maybe, they can get someone to remix the album so they sound like actual songs. You know? Those things with hooks? Middle eights? Choruses? Melodies?
