SPOILER WARNING: Prestige Television Discussion

I have lived at my house out in the middle of nowhere for over 15 years without cable and relying solely on Netflix and Amazon prime.

After having plans of watching the Super Bowl at a friend's house be ruined because of the snow in my area I decided to sign up for you tube TV to be able to watch it. 14 days free and hopefully it'll be worth the time of me checking it out to see what it is all about.
If you're not a big "cable" TV watcher but you'd like a little cable TV in your life, I would recommend Sling over YouTube TV.
My partner became obsessed with discovery and discovery plus for whatever reason.  Are you familiar if Sling or anything else has that option as channels?

I know I know . . . Google it bitch.  More fun to ask.
If you have Starz, I recommend checking out “In The Long Run”.  Starring Idris Elba it’s a nice little sitcom loosely based on him growing up in the 80s. Got a great 80s soundtrack as well.. All three seasons are streaming
Watched "It's A Sin" over the weekend on HBO Max, really well done series about AIDS in London the 80s.
Gotham is a show that you should only watch in spurts and then put it away for a bit and then come back to it because, gurrrrl, that shit gets dumb.

I also like watching anime and on Netflix there is a pretty cool show that I am watching called Parasyte.

I made it halfway through season 2 episode 7 of breaking bad and I can't figure out if I should continue.

I just cancelled YTTV so am interested in hearing why.

For the record, I do not miss my streaming service.
i don't know if these recommendations count as "prestige", but here goes:

i thoroughly enjoyed "Bliss", with Owen Wilson and Salma Hayak.  fun twist on addiction, interdimensional travel, the source of happiness and the nature of reality.  critics don't seem to have been impressed by it but i thought it was a fun watch.

i started watching season 1 of ZeroZeroZero, a series about the cocaine trade, and thought to myself "the music is intense".  paid attention to the credits in episode 2, and saw "Music performed and recorded by MOGWAI".  so far the show has me hooked, will continue to watch.

both available on Prime.

Neddy got back
Sisyphus is excellent.
The Simpsons apparently have a Smiths themed show tonight.

Morrissey has some 'thoughts'

Surprising what a “turn for the worst" the writing for The Simpson’s tv show has taken in recent years.

Sadly, The Simpson’s show started out creating great insight into the modern cultural experience, but has since degenerated to trying to capitalize on cheap controversy and expounding on vicious rumors.

Poking fun at subjects is one thing. Other shows like SNL still do a great job at finding ways to inspire great satire.

But when a show stoops so low to use harshly hateful tactics like showing the Morrissey character with his belly hanging out of his shirt (when he has never looked like that at any point in his career) makes you wonder who the real hurtful, racist group is here.

Even worse - calling the Morrissey character out for being a racist, without pointing out any specific instances, offers nothing. It only serves to insult the artist.

They should take that mirror and hold it up to themselves.

Simpson’s actor Hank Azaria's recent apology to the whole country of India for his role in upholding "structural racism” says it all.

Unlike the character in the Simpson’s “Panic” episode…….

Morrissey has never made a “cash grab”, hasn’t sued any people for their attacks, has never stopped performing great shows, and is still a serious vegan and strong supporter for animal rights.

By suggesting all of the above in this episode…the Simpson’s hypocritical approach to their storyline says it all.

Truly they are the only ones who have stopped creating, and have instead turned unapologetically hurtful and racist.

Not surprising…… that The Simpsons viewership ratings have gone down so badly over recent years.
I love Moz!!

But he did have his belly protruding at the Anthem show… which was shocking

The crazy thing is Morrissey has been saying the same sorts of things since the 1980s but people choose to be outraged now..

Listen to Bengali in platforms or National Front Disco if you don’t believe me…actually those songs are arguably worse in message or let’s say more out of step with modern group think than anything he has been singing lately.. I guess lately his controversies are more about what he says in interviews… back in the day he actually sang songs with those views…but they were couched in such catchiness nobody seemed to care..about the only people that cared much where Cornershop

It’s funny how much Moz gets into ratings…Just like he gets into chart positions and album sales when he releases new albums…I remember at the Anthem show he proudly talked about his current album’s chart position

Moz was always a bit of a throwback to the older days and this has become more pronounced as time has gone by
And isn’t he right about the Simpsons? Does anybody still watch?

hmm longest-running primetime scripted series on TV…
must be doing something right to have the advertisers coming back

I haven't really watched in over 2 decades…but I'm not their target audience

One could argue cartoons, financially, are naturally made to exist on TV longer than traditional sitcoms. Simpsons are not exactly killing in the ratings.
