SPOILER WARNING: Prestige Television Discussion

so can someone explain Apple TV to me?
I got it so I could watch Ted Lasso and VU movie, but it seems that the $4.99 only gets you a few episodes and you have to write a check to Tim Cook when you want to watch anything

Am I doing this wrong or is there barely any content for the base sub?
There is plenty of content on Apple TV+ seeing as there is only one sub rate…

Severance is amazing unlike much of what's on TV nowadays, we also enjoyed Slow Horses, Black Bird, The Morning Show, Mythic Quest for starters.

honestly overall the Apple TV+ content is really good, there a some clunkers and certainly better than some of the endless Marvel and Star Wars content on Disney+

they also don't drop entire seasons at once like Netflix does..
Severance is the only thing I thought worth a damn on Apple TV. Ted Lasso is the bane of my existance.

maybe I'm doing it wrong, but most of the things I found when I click on them say Ways to watch …then says something about having to purchase it
The Patient is shaping up to be stellar. I had no idea that was little Ronnie Weasley.

edit: that's Bill, Ronnie's oldest brother.
Is the new GOT worth the effort, for me to attempt to watch it?
I think this is common knowledge…but Ted lasso is soo fucking good

Loot
Loving it, kinda wanted to hate it at first, but after a few episodes I was hooked

Severance…I duuno, interesting concept, about 4 episodes in and not really that excited to keep going

(as you can see, I didn't realize I only had the 'Free' account of AppleTV and now I can watch all the other stuff)
My Apple experience:

Ted Lasso-good, but not as amazing as some say
Swagger- good, set in PG County (not sure if it's filmed there)
Coda-deserving of the Oscars
Severance-didn't like it

Swagger is being filmed in Richmond. They're doing the next season right now.

In twenty years, people are going to look back on Coda winning Best Picture the way we currently view Forrest Gump or Driving Miss Daisy winning. There are a couple "stories" Oscar voters tell with their Best Picture selection, and they pick one of these every year:

[li]Sprawling epic film that is a cinematic marvel deserves to win[/li]
[li]Most popular film of the year deserves to win[/li]
[li]We are raising up arthouse voices with this selection despite very few people actually seeing this film[/li]
[li]This film presents a rosy picture of who we are/can be and we're giving it an award[/li]

… and whenever they select that last one (which they did with Coda, a film no one really saw until it won that is not technically particularly great and not arthouse at all), it ages SO POORLY.

I saw it well before it was nominated. I like small films that tell a good story and offer hope. So I probably am the target audience for only one of those type of films you describe/
"I saw it well before it was nominated" is the new "i was listening to them before they went mainstream"

That good, huh?  Lol.  Anyone watching the  new LOTR?  I have been too lazy to start it, and now with all the crazy racism backlash.  I love the movies, even The Hobbit, so I guess I should give it a shot.
I watched the 1st one.  I enjoyed it and will keep watching as time allows.

Watching both "House of the Dragon" and "Rings Of Power", both are proving to be interesting so far… Of course the first few episodes are going to be a little slow as they have all new characters to introduce, but they are quickly picking up steam..

HOTD as one would expect has lots of Dragons.. It also feels like it's going to include all the British actors/actresses not in GOT, not that Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Rhys Ifans are slouches… Apparently, last night's episode went full GOT last night.

The hubbub over the casting of ROP is just more white fragility on display, it's fantasy FFS.. and besides the Harfoots are described as being of "Browner of skin" then Hobbits..  Anyways, it would appear that ROP is building towards the main characters banding together eventually, hard to say as my only exposure to that universe is the movies…
It’s such a stupid game, nearly every movie does it to some degree
Fantasy fans are a lot more racist than one would have expected,
this isn’t new news
Holy shit Sheryl Lee Ralph just set a new standard at the Emmys.
