Fucker - where'd you get it? Especially an official looking version. Is it that bigyawn hookup?

I love that cover - Wonder if it's Dita Von Teese again - from the same photo sessions as Blackberry Belle.

Glad you like it though. Eventually you'll come around to one of the greatest artists of our generation.

Here's what I have on:

The National
Cherry Tree EP

A fine hold over until the next proper record. There are a couple songs on here that stand up with the best they've done (e.g., All the Wine - which WOXY is spinning)

This six song ep continues to amaze and delight me several months after getting it…

Just found out they are signed with Nashville indie label Theory 8 records and have a new record due out in 1/2005. Forget Cassettes, whose name seems famaliar, are signed on Theory 8 as well.

Anyways checkout De Novo Dahl they have three songs available for download, including Memphis which is a tribute to Jeff Buckley.

Highly recommended for those Spree fans hanging out on the board these days…
Finally nabbed a copy. At first listen, it's quite good, which I didn't say about the first one.

A groovy little record. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes Tricky - Zero 7 - Morcheeba - Air.

Notable also since Greg Dulli covers Too Tough To Die on the new Twilight Singers.

It's getting pretty sweet reviews too:
metacritic on Anything

from tiny mix tapes:
the Mercury Prize nominated Quixotic has been retooled, rearranged, and renamed for release in North America, for what should prove to be your immense listening pleasure. …the now title track "Anything," has to be one of the most moving songs in trip-hop's elusive history. The album doesn't come off as gritty and dark as the original so much as it provides an eclectic-soul Air alternative. There is a wide range of natural instrumentation and studio tricks present on every track, channeled through various combinations of producers and guest appearances by Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age), Mark Lanegan, and Tricky, who returns the favor in fine form. All this makes Anything every bit as interesting to listen to as it is nice to hear. As for Topley-Bird herself, she's got a voice that capably transcends Erykah Badu, Shirley Bassey, and Skye Edwards (Morcheeba) to establish herself among them. Plus, she writes most of her own lyrics and music, and logs a lot of time in the producer's seat adding myriad effects to earn your attention. Quixotic was one of the best albums on the Europe last year and Anything will be one of the best here in 2004…

Fucking wicked eh? Does that mean you'd recommend it?
:D

It's tops on my 'to get' list.
I'd highly recommend it. It's definitely not for everyone, as it's completely fuzzed out psych rock, ala a less accessible Mudhoney.

will have to check this out, thanks for posting!
I'm listening to this album I got for a buck yesterday by a band called the High Strung. Annoying vocals, but entertaining. Kinda like the Buzzcocks doing Fountains of Wayne songs. Or maybe just a complete ripoff of the Buzzcocks.
comets on fire are pretty boss, nkotbie.

I'm listening to:

Oneida â?? Enemy Hogs
Lee Perry - Return of the Super Ape

both great.
