As far as letting peoplein i was workin door last night..trust me i felt the pressure to work well and fast..it is a big deal…i think staff is getting better and faster at it…
The Anthem
Yesterday was a young crowd…95% of tix on cell phones.. #1 time hold up is people not initially having screen bright enough to allow tix scan
Shins was a good show on Thursday.
Crowd was very chatty though, and so many chatterers in a cavernous room on the quieter songs was a challenge.

The Outfield???

Yes
Josie's indeed on a vacation far away at most Shins shows.
Execrable…along with the ill advised Petty cover…
But the crowd seemed to lap it up

I enjoyed both; both were weaved into Shins songs, Petty was more of a snippet than a cover.

I went to see Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile last night and was surprised to find that it was a seated show. If I had known we'd have come a bit earlier. I sat on the main floor center, second row just after the aisle break. Not sure if it was just where we were, but for the first two songs the lights that were swirling down into the crowd were absolutely blinding. Uncomfortable to the point where I stopped looking at the stage. Thankfully, they stopped that after the second song.
The show itself was a lot of fun. Kurt seemed sober and the show was better than their joint record.

Yeah the seating thing was a surprise to me too
It actually was a lot more packed than I thought it would be
I saw some from up top, but while the sight lines are great…sound isn't that great if you are in the standing room area up behind the super special seats…so moved down by the soundboard
Sound was tight and thought they sounded great
I felt they put on a great show
I thought Janet Weiss was touring with them..don't think she was behind the kit
Well, that's lame…
1. Sit down shows should be announced
2. Not sure why that specific show would be a sit down
3. I'm assuming that's a trick of the trade when it's a 2500 person show vs. a 6000 person show.

Cause they're the hippest, coolest, slackerist, stonerist, duo ever!

what he said
I actually think they work well together and its a good match-up
Kurt and Courtney was good last night, but I agree that it should have been more widely publicized that it was a sit-down show (though I did notice that my ticket said "GA Seating" instead of "GA Standing"). It was funny seeing Courtney politely ask the audience to stand up and dance a few times before some brave souls took her up on the challenge.
hutch,
can you confirm with your team if Dylan is a sit down show?

I would be shocked…I will be there on the 11th and will see if I find anything out…it had not occured to me as remotely possible…Any reason you think it might be?

Mellow show…. Old crowd… he's old as dirt… I'm guessing not close to sold out…
Bob usually attracts a contingent of young ones although most fans are older….I have seen him in arenas with GA standing and assigned seats..
A lot of his repertoire is fairly rockin..
Yesterday for grizzly bear it was much less packed than Courtney and there were no seats on floor..Lesh had no seats on floor either
I have noticed a lot of ads about show on my FB feed
