I have never been able to replicate the coleslaw I've eaten in NC.  So f'ing delicious.  My favorite BBQ state!
This thread is making me wish I still traveled a bunch for work.  So much fun driving an entire state in one week and eating at awesome places.

I guess it depends on the state.  I have spent time in Nashville and Memphis and didn't find much worth eating.
uhh huh.  like i totally believe that.  i believe you enjoy saying that, more than actually believing that.  because that is always better than that.  that is of course, you believe that.

Am I in the Matrix? … Because I understand that.

I don't eat fried food and I don't like sweet tea.  And I don't eat mammals..  So there wasn't much in that state that I liked.  Well except the music.

Do you eat <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2378775/Family-catch-eat-octopus-tentacles-Greek-vacation--second-specimen-rare-hexapus-found.html">cephalopods</a>;?

They were the first persons to ever eat one?  That is cool.  I was in Iceland and talked about eating Puffins and Whales but I never did.  Don't think I would eat a rare animal.
The local French Restaurant only has coq au vin occasionaly. I would go there every week if they had it all the time.  Coq au vin takes forever to make so I very rarely make it myself.  Is there anywhere that has it on the menu all the time.
I've been sucked into the trap of 14th street this evening and trying Le Diplomate. We shall see if it lives up to the (over)hype.

I would go on Friday as that is Bouillabaisse day.  They don't have Coq au vin either.  What is wrong with the world?
Save room for the grapefruit sorbet (so I'm told).
Mandalay in Silver Spring for Burmese food.  They have a DC one scheduled to one soon.  Very few Burmese restaurants out there, it's a mixture of Thai, Chinese and Indian flavors.  The Burmese place in Chinatown is good but Mandalay is better.
Was not aware of the fact that there are now Three more Burmese restaurants in the DC area. Two in NoVa and one in Gaithersburg.  For many years it was limited to places like DC and NYC.  But now I see Philly, Boston and other cities have Burmses eateries as well.  Regardless if you've never had it, the two I'be mentioned are worth seeking out, can't speak to the others.
Only one I've eaten at is Myanmar in Falls Church.  Have no idea how it stacks up against the others, but it's decent.  It's been there a while.
This area needs a good Indonesian restuarant. Like the ones I ate at in Amsterdam last year.
I could eat me some pancit!
