Cap City Brewery Shirlington - Ok the food, beer and service were all poor, but they had a killer outdoor space and great free warm pretzels. Many an afternoon was spent sipping a brew whilst the young Hatchs devoured the pretzels

BrickHaus too They had decent food, great rotaing and trad German stuff on tap and cool layout. I gotta imagine that the extra 8 months it took to open (I think due to Arlington) put a hole in their bottom line that couldn't be filled
Bold Bite in Bethesda…loved this place, was the only way to pay less than $12 for a meal in that town and get something decent
Armand’s in Silver Spring Has Slung Its Last Chicago-Style Pizza Pie….never loved this pizza, but enjoyed many times with friends at one or two of their locations over the years
