How does one become a bbq expert?

You move to  North Carolina, you live there for a few years . . . and you laugh at anybody who lives in DC or NOVA or the Maryland suburbs, claiming to be an expert.

Walkie, question: would Kansas City also be an acceptable place to move? If so, does it matter which side of the border?

Fat Pete's BBQ in Cleveland park and close to the White House makes a mean brisket worth writing home about
I'm no BBQ expert, but that stuff is soo good

Can confirm, their ribs are excellent as well.  Grab a pineapple jalapeno margarita to go while you're at it.

Anybody know where one can purchase a sliced pork bbq samich these days?  Used to get em at a place called Kenny's in Alexandria and Mount Pleasant.  They're long gone and I haven't found a replacement since.

Having never been there, I must inform you  . . . no.
I'm thinking I might just fuck off and make some kofta.

Went and picked up brisket and a few sides at http://www.2fiftybbq.com last night. They set up at a Farmer's Market near College Park every Thursday and Sunday.

I am no BBQ expert and DC clearly lacks anything to write home about, but holy shit this was delicious. It's been raved about by the WaPo and a few other spots, so I'd recommend getting here before it starts selling out daily! YSOA.

THIS is the only take out I've ordered in quarantine. I was in TX in Feb and this came DAMN CLOSE. Fucking amazing and really affordable.
I've had BBQ from all over the country when I used to drive all over for work. This definitely holds up as some of the best.

Nice!!! And I think today is ordering day… Maybe we'll have that for dinner tomorrow!

edit: Damn… they just posted they won't be at the Farmer's Market this week but will be opening their actual restaurant Friday.
They're not doing a Thursday sale this week, but there's gonna be a Friday ready-to-eat sale.

Its pretty good, yeah. We go there sometimes before the Symphony when we don't feel like Juleps.
mmm…
My FIL swore by PB&Mayo sammiches.
I will, try it.  I will want to barf as I spread it (that's what she said), but I will try it.
the bacon, pickle, mayo and pb one…really hits all the flavors in one bite
Mayo is disgusting. Yes, it’s good on a few things as long as It is applied gently.

Would never ruin pb by adding Mayo to it. That’s revolting.
How on earth did I miss the posts about that bbq joint?
