What Did You Just Buy Tickets To?

One person said they would have been into it at Atlantis (450 capacity) but not 930 (1200 capacity)

Another said his solo shows are boring and they would be into it only if it was Wilco.

These people killed my excitement and now must pay.

it will be noted in AE’s obit that he had the opening slot for the last Sex Pistols show
Obviously he is legend for decades of quality work and touring

Interesting. I had not heard that. Maybe you could get someone to add it to his Wiki page. I did know that Sheila E. is his niece.

Two local punk groups—the Nuns (with a pre-fame Alejandro Escovedo) and the Avengers (with vocalist Penelope Houston)—opened the Winterland show
I've mentioned this before, but I saw Alejandro Escovedo and his brother Javier is a short live group called True Believers.. anyways it was the only the legit time a request for Freebird made sense as it was a three guitar lineup in that group.  kinda glad that behavior died out…

Ha!  Not exactly.

The gist of the genre was before your time Yada.

As per Wiki-
Cowpunk (or country punk) is a subgenre of punk rock that began in the United Kingdom and Southern California in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It combines punk rock or new wave with country, folk, and blues in its sound, lyrical subject matter, attitude, and style.[1][3] Examples include Social Distortion,[4] The Gun Club, The Long Ryders, Dash Rip Rock, Violent Femmes, The Blasters, Mojo Nixon, Meat Puppets, The Beat Farmers, Rubber Rodeo, Rank and File, and Jason and the Scorchers.[5] Many of the musicians in this scene subsequently became associated with alternative country, roots rock or Americana.

Caught a bunch of these bands at the old 9:30  (including Escovedo's Rank and File).  Great fun!
