What Did You Just Buy Tickets To?

Also, I don't like scones or sushi.  Most other people seem to.  Don't understand that in any way.
Thank you Ollie.

It is just my opinion, formed through years of casual exposure to Bruce's music.  Why does it bother you that I do not like him?

+1 on sushi
-1 on scones
Pete Seeger has his moments
Speaking of Bob Seger I really like Bruce's album of Seger covers.. The Seger Sessions… A mean Ramblin Gamblin WIllie..
It took me a good long while to get into Bruce.  My best friend in College is from Jersey and was absolutely obsessed.  Nebraska is what did it for me, and from there got into some of the other stuff.  I don't like it all. I'll always like the stripped down stuff the best.

The once I saw him I was bored at times, but it was arena rock show and I was pretty far back.  Think it might be different from the Pitt. I clearly don't love him enough to find out.

I don't care at all for sushi. It's one of my secret shames. I'm ambivalent on Springsteen.

Shall we assume you're in a committed relationship these days?
I guess not with the anime girl…

Bruce is trash.

I first saw the Brooce on the tunnel of love tour in the 80s (when I was in my mid 20s) and was not really impressed. I next saw him again in the mid 2000s (early 40s). I really enjoyed the shows, great songs that I grew up with, very cathartic shows, talented musicians, goodtimes. Now at 50, I will have seen him 3 times this year. Excessive, yes. Probably should have skipped the Verizon Center show, as I had shitty seats and went solo-ish.

I think that he is not "trash," just as Cemetery Piss aren't trash, and that Wilco is/are not "boring," just as Seal isn't boring; They are all artists performing their Art - and one word dismissive pejorative reviews are not to be taken seriously, and are not taken seriously. These types of categorical artist dismissals seem to be stated on this forum to pick fights; and I doubt that the artists that you prefer would join you in your opinions or that they would want to pick those fights.

That being said, Billy Joel is motherfucking garbage. Can we all at least agree on that?
I wrote way more than that three word sentence about my dislike of Bruce.

Cemetery Piss, like Bruce, are not for everyone.

Wilco… Ugh.

I know that you did, Bonarroo, Phish, not liking his songs, but it was all superficial; and undermined by equating him/his music with refuse; and yes: until you have stood for 3 hours in the unrelenting rain in western Massachusetts with Bagley to see the WilcoFest, you just have no idea what you are talking about there.

No takers on Billy Joel. Fucking "All for Leyna," the absolute worst.

Like him or not, you gotta admit Jessie's Girl is a great song.
I do enjoy "Born in East LA"; the song and the movie.

Something we all can agree on!
man.. if songs like Born to Run or Thunder Road or Rosalita do nothing for you you need your pulse checked…For me I like Springsteen a lot up to about 1982 but I think he fell of a cliff after that…..I love his first album but it is admittedly a very good Dylan forgery….

Springsteen in DC used to play at the old Childe Harold when he first started coming down.. its hard for me to imagine that having been at the place (RIP).. .one of my dream shows if I had a time travel machine would have been the College Park show in the mid 70s.. probably 73 or 74.. the date is on the net but I can't be bothered.. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band opened up for I think Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry closed with Bruce and the E Street Band backing him.. there is a very funny video of Bruce talking about the experience included in the movie Hail Hail Rock and Roll (and I'm sure on youtube)…. unfortunately no audio exists

Curiously enough his first band- Steel Mill- had a HUGE following in Richmond, VA but didn't make it anywhere else….Springsteen decided to break it up .. I have a Steel Mill bootleg cd somewhere around here but am scared to listen to it..

John Hammond- pardon me a little bit more credibility than Killsally  (with all due respect of course)- the greatest A&R man in the history of music then signed him to Columbia and the rest is history.. John Hammond for those unaware is the same guy who first signed Count Basie, Billie Holiday, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Ray Vaughan and countless others…
Are you trying to convince me that I SHOULD like Bruce?  I don't, end of story, you can move on now.

Enjoy the show, whoever goes, I did not mean to shit on your festivities.

Edit: I do like the "I'm on Fire" cover that Microkingdom and Sam from Future Islands did.

no of course not.. I couldn't care less nor do I care for his music - as I wrote- since 1982…. but to call him "trash" is ridiculous..  if you say that you are a moron…

but my post wasn't directed at you killsally.. the world- shock- does not revolve around you.
Not directed towards me, but you call me out by name in that post?

And a big fuck you for the name calling.  Every day you call me a moron or something.  Do I ever call you names?  No.  Try to insult your intelligence?  No.

well i can't help it if you are a moron Killsally.. saying Springsteen is "trash" is a moronic statement.. hence you are a MORON.. frankly, you're also really annoying and the worst boardie around here so why don't you go in your fridge grab a few ice cubes and shove them up your hairy ass and chill out a bit?
