dang the Saturday show…did you get soaked on the purchase?

The most I've ever paid for a concert ticket over the face value… It was a little over double the original cost of face + fees, but after the Lockn + Bonnaroo announcements, I don't think they'll be playing locally anytime soon. I also have some changes coming up in the near future that will not allow me to attend many shows post July.

Another one in the oven?

You sir are correct!

Sidehutch, I think I remember you posting about my wife's breast pump in a picture I posted once. That breast pump wasn't for me!

at the rate you go to far off shows and do fine dining…I just assumed it was not likely that you had offspring.  But I do remember the pump, but assumed it was for your penis

Now let's not turn this into a who spends more money on what conversation… but I've been to approximately two concerts out of the DC area since my daughter was born and my concert going has dropped significantly in the past two years.

Re: dining, it's a hobby I may partake in once a month, if that? And I'm usually eating in fancy places in Wheaton, MD.
Congrats, Yada!
Since when does having kids prevent someone from dining out?

It doesn't, but typically people don't traffic swanky restaurants with their kids in tow
and Yada tends to talk about places that I would imagine wouldn't be kid friendly

Obviously he has a good babysitter or mother-in-law who lives close by

oh….Mazel Tov!
We have to raise the next generation of Ween fans

There are some people who do and they are the absolutely lowest form of scum.

Apparently, your opinion is the small minority.

Bob, I literally stopped being friends with a couple because they called me up and wanted to go to dinner, we agreed to meet up at one of the nicest, trendiest places in town, and they showed up with their two children, both under age 4. The oldest proceeded to run around and scream he wanted fucking mac and cheese and a hot dog the entire time (at a James Beard semifinalist's neo-american foodie restaurant). They had absolutely no shame in this. I pretended I had to go to the bathroom right as they left so I could find the waitress after they were out of sight, hand her an extra $60, and say "I am so sorry, I didn't know. I just didn't know." She nodded.

We luckily scored with an amazing nanny (not the hot kind Relaxer) and we don't take our daughter to "swanky" places… only recently have we dipped our toes back into taking her out to non swanky meals which tend to be a crap shoot.

re: ween, she's a big fan already!

also… this coming from the guy who owned property in SF!!! LOL!

"Its fine as long as they're well behaved" dominates with 77%. Virtually no kids under 8 are going to remain well behaved. If they do, OK, your kid is the exception to the rule. Good on you, parent.

But rest assured parents idea of whether their kid is acting in an appropriate manner is vastly different than people around them's opinion.

I have no problem with a teenager being at a fancy restaurant.
Yeah, I hate:

People who show up at a restaurant with a kid
People who show up at a picnic/bbq with a dog

So tacky. Grow up!

I think it really depends on the kid(s). We started taking our daughter to restaurants from the very beginning, and trained her well. She has always been very well behaved. It helps that she has no siblings.

I've seen other kids who were well behaved as wel, and others who were total assholes.

That said, it's a rare, special, occasion when we go to a "fancy" restaurant. Part of the special is getting a sitter and having an actual date night.
I have very strong opinions about children.

TGI Fridays - OK, children expected
Acadiana - well maybe not "fancy" but I would not expect children there and would be thoroughly annoyed if someone brought an unruly child to dinner here.

Hey Bob, I think the last time you ate a nice restaurant was also 20 years ago. Acadiana? Puhlease!
