Live in the Age of Covid19

Is it a broken model? On multiple levels.

I do want something similar to what we had before. But it’s time for some changes.
Like what?

Live Nation is the big boy and they have been raking…what’s in it for them to change? If anything I think they will continue in the same direction

If you mean small local venues they are all going down..new entrants will have to prioritize doing things to stay alive… whatever that is
If Trump had his way, live music would be happening now, as it has always been.
And we would all be dead including the musicians….

I don't think I am in any way minimizing the seriousness of the disease by saying your statement is patently untrue.

Especially for the musicians, it would be easy for them to social distance from the crowd.

Agreed.  Every other player in the game - artist, customer, venue - takes a few on the chin.  I don't see where these guys do at all.

I guess we don't have a lot to complain about in our area. As a customer, I'm tired of shitty sound and horror movie bathrooms.  The former is an infrequent complaint around here….the latter is generally expected when I see a show. Minor complaints, I guess.

you couldn't pay me enough to perform in front of a crowd of screaming fans inside a club, no matter how far away they are (short of being outside the building).  spend over an hour with that much indoor top-of-lung singing-along and you're going to get the 'rona.
TONIGHT:  Friday the 16th of October, tune in for a rare stream of Them Crooked Vultures full 2010 performance at Royal Albert Hall in support of Teenage Cancer Trust. Watch here: https://youtu.be/s7M21FwUzXA- appears to start at 5:00 pm Eastern.  i wonder if that's a one-time, must-watch live thing or if playback will be available for a while.

cohen, to self: "hey, why should i be the only one in a bubble?"

yes, he crowd-surfed in his bubble on top of the crowd's bubbles.
He, thinks he's Jesus, for a reason.

Jesus Christ the self-importance. Let me tell you all about the life-changing, historic sandwich I had last week.
Really
If you have existed as a band for 3+ decades, you really cannot call a random concert from 4 years ago "historic," unless one of your members literally died on stage mid-concert.

No one in 2050 is going to look back on the career of Pearl Jam and write about the 2016 Philly show.
Totally
