Live in the Age of Covid19

did any Hey, Soul Sistahs here make it to Train last night?  can't find any reviews online… someone uploaded a video which i really wanted to see, to hopefully get a view of the crowd size, but the account was terminated…
I was too out of it to make it but priorities…
I’m old enough to remember mosh pits at indigo girls shows.  My how times have changed
Front Row Wilco tix currently available on TM.
Wow that’s super tempting

Great heads up!
nice…and face value.  Two sets in fact, a 2 seat and 4 seat

also GA pit available too
temping as it may be and I like both the bands, not tempting enough to make it to MPP…even on a Friday…but your mileage may varry

TBH..pretty poorly sold for Wilco.  Don't they ususally sell out the seats and the pit.  looks like only 60% of the seats and can't tell on the lawn/Pit how many are left
Member covid sidepassenger?
I agree…but this show went on sale a while ago when people were buying up tix

Still thought on a Friday night at an outdoor venue like MPP would be a little more packed

they are bands that target audience is around 50, so more on the high risk spectrum
unlike the typical Lollapalooza attendee
I mean you know they sold out a seated anthem?

I think there were some SRO tickets…

So 3400 tickets max?

Obviously they are not going to move that many tickets

I don’t think they have to in order for them or the promoter  to make a tidy sum

I am out of town or this would be a slam dunk..I would be in the pit

I guess I am different but I enjoy the drive which is a part of the pregame..with the right friend(s) it can be fun driving up there.. and on the way back you talk about the show and bask in the afterglow..done it dozens of times

We call that the "post show glow" where I'm from.
Yeah!

Some day I will learn what I did to Sidehatch at the Cure show at Merriweather

The way I remember it we had pit tickets… I picked him up and drove him there and back… yes traffic was bad going up but we had fantastic music and made it in plenty of time…show was fabulous…like a dream….the Cure even performed his favorite song “Push”…we were like equivalent  10th row center in pit!!

Now you mention Merriweather and the TERROR grips him…the ticket prices! The distance!! The hassle

I'd go for the Cure again, short list of other bands
I just don't like shed shows and 45 min drives to get to them

New order is on that list..but $175 and a split bill with the Poop shop boys didn't thrill me
When I am at the pit at Merriweather I feel like I am at the 930 club! You are that close! I have seen so many great shows…had so many great times there from pit! Only thing that sucks is the difficulty getting a steady provision of drinks….

Iron Maiden, LCD Soundsystem, Cure, NewOrder, Phish (ok this one sucked), Dylan/Costello, Wilco (twice), Dylan (front row of pit!), Beck. and so many more…

Totally not trying to change you Sideways… I respect that even if I don’t understand it.. But not like I run to Merriweather for any show either…
Madien from the pit sounds cool
I agree, the pit is like a show at the anthem (not like the club)

Low blow hutch!

I think the lack of blow was likely the problem

Terrible drug for Terrible people!
It remains weird to me that Hutch is a cocaine dude. I just can't picture it.
I have never turned down a line but it has been more than ten years…
