Live in the Age of Covid19

Sorry, I missed this conversation.

I once went to a Fugazi show and both L7 and Pearl Jam opened, but I would have to say one of my all-time my favorite shows was October '91, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Temple of the Dog all opening for Soundgarden at the Palladium in Hollywood (not my fave PJ show, but ALL TIME shows).

As headliners, RATM opening for Pearl Jam right before my high school graduation was also pretty awesome, and seeing both of them again at Lollapalooza that summer was pretty good too.

But I would say my all time favorite PJ show was the Empire Polo Grounds (now commonly referred to as Coachella) in '93.  Did the overnight, all of it, before it was cool, and even though the crowd pissed off Eddie with some shoe throwing and they played Sonic Reducer behind the stacks, they crushed a solid playlist and capped it with a Baba O'Riley ending:

Release
Go
Animal
Why Go
Deep
Jeremy
Glorified G
Daughter
Alive
Rearviewmirror
Improvisation
Blood
Rats
Once
Porch
Fuck Me in the Brain
Sonic Reducer
Even Flow
Indifference
Baba O'Riley
not sure I'd want to go to a concert if I had to wear a mask the entire time
I understand the why, I just would not attend

Ha ha awesome !!
Anyone catch The Decemberists show last night.  1st show of 3.  Might catch one of the last two.
I don't even think the floor is 30 feet deep at the arlo porkrolleggandcheese show

yeah and the link is for Pearl St, at least they have that outdoor area, as that's about 30 feet from the stage

Not as impressed with the song selection last night as I was with the first stream.  However, the highlight was Colin's wardrobe choice as he appeared resplendent in a Hutch inspired Pollard No-Hitter T shirt!

today is Bandcamp Friday.  not-so-coincidentally, DCFC has announced a 24-hour offer that coincides with it:

ANNOUNCING DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE - LIVE AT THE SHOWBOX !
Like so many other artists, we expected to play a lot of shows in 2020. To gear up for the year ahead, we decided to warm up by playing an intimate, three night stand at a venue that's near and dear to our hearts - the Showbox in Seattle. Well, 2020 didn't quite turn out like we had planned - but happily those three magical nights last February did, and we're glad to say that we had them recorded!

LIVE AT THE SHOWBOX is a 17-track selection of songs from those three wonderful evenings, and it is available today Friday 5/7 only until 11:59pm PT, exclusively on Bandcamp. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the National Independent Venue Association, who are doing crucial work to ensure that venues like the Showbox will still be there on the other end of this pandemic.

Thanks as always for listening, and we'll see YOU on the other end of this pandemic, too!

xoxo,
DCFC
