Down that twitter thread, I did see this…
Bowser says the city's stance on masks will not change
Does that mean it will be at full capacity but will have to wear masks indoors??

I would've bet $1000 that Virginia would be back to full capacity before DC and I would've lost that money so fast. Really surprising since DC has been SO restrictive even compared to fairly liberal DC and VA neighbors.

Per WaPo's Fritz Hahn:
After today's news, I reached out to Audrey Fix Schaefer of @930Club and @TheAnthemDC to ask the question on everyone's mind.
"We’re absolutely ecstatic," she says. "Now we can begin planning for reopening. After 14 months dark, it’s a time-consuming, multi-disciplined effort between getting staff on board again, training and retraining, booking acts, and preparing our venues to welcome fans back. While I don’t have a date for opening day yet since we just got this news, I can’t wait to get to announce when our doors will be open.""

Horseshit. He doesn't even address if Hutch is returning to his job there. Total let down.

let the snark commence!
not that anti-vaxxers care about such things… but because they did such a bang up job in the UK with the vaccine rollout and they now have a new surge in cases due to the Delta variant. lots of scheduled summer musical festivals and shows are being cancelled or moved to later in the year over there
but get outraged because the Foo Fighters are concerned with the health of their fans…

looks like i'm going to cancel any concert plans i had, at least for the near term. at first it was the indoor shows that i bailed on, but given the story below sounds like outdoor shows aren't safe either. i wonder what the numbers from lolla are going to look like…
Milwaukee Bucks fans celebrated the NBA championship outside. 500 still got covid, officials say.

I am on my 3rd full day back from Lolla. No illness, yet ?, for me.
Meanwhile a co-worker went to the delaware shore over the weekend sharing a house with a bunch of folks (mostly in their 50s/60s) and 2 people (fully vaxxed), so far, are sick with the vid.
I am presently more concerned about sharing more intimate meals, etc. indoors than outdoor music shows. Indoor music shows are a concern. But, I think I am just gonna stay masked for awhile.
Next indoor show for me is DBT on 8/27.
