if it's like last year, GA tickets get you everywhere including the floor/pit. BUT, security limits how many people can get in to the pavilion. once the floor and the seats are full, you have to wait in line to get in to the pit or the pavilion (people enter as others leave, one-for-one). lines might be longer & slower this year since some of the pavilion will be reserved for the $125's.
the second stage is out in a field, festival-style.

Anyways here is a question (sorry to distract from James Ford's whining about how he did not get enough tickets and his poor family was screwed):

Solidified to the dance forest, you need the 125$ to go to the rest of the festival.

the $125 seats guarantee you admission into the pavilion at all teams (and, of course, the entire festival)
but they are GA…not reserved

So seth: will ONLY $125s be allowed in to the pavilion, or will some free/cheap ticket holders be let in too, space allowing? What about the floor/pit?

I understand all of the frustration on here, but realize that it's a free show. Anyone who gets a ticket has the pleasure of going, we aren't owed anything. The fact there was a presale shows that there was an attempt at loyalty which is an additional thought to those here. I didn't get tickets, in fact I didn't even get a presale notification, but like I said I wasn't owed going to this show, it's a gift. If I get one tomorrow, I'll go, if not, then no.
It's a concert people, let's hold it together. if you miss a show its not the end of the world.

I think my family was screwed because we were honest. If one of us had given a fake home address (real address unnecessary since they're being emailed to you), we could have gotten the two pairs (actually one pair and a third, I was going to give away the fourth) we needed.

That's odd. It should be regulated per credit card / email since James is right about shared addresses (for those that made donations, two people at the same address, with different payments for those teens, it seems fair to let them both get tickets).
Alls I know is when it comes time, I hope my $30 behind the scenes donation payment to the homeless teens is not messed up. Didn't do the seat option for $125 - that is silly for a designated seat and too much $ for a semi-small festival; donation or not.
give it a rest dude..its a bit tiresome to read so much whining from you… you were whining about the 930 30th anniversary then seth called you out and you backpedaled.. then you whined about the virgin fest and how it would suck then seth called you out and you backpedaled.. now it turns out you want to go but didn't get the number of free tickets you wanted…
give me a break dude..seriously.
If your tickets get taken away from you I am sure someone who actually likes the bands playing at the festival will get them instead. You can feel good about that. Or you could buy the 125 dollar tickets if you want more than 2. You would end up with 3 festival tickets for 125 dollars which is a pretty good deal

Anyone know if a baby needs a ticket to get in? I'm thinking of taking my 11 month son to his first concert.

Do you have an 11 month old kid? Why would you say this?
At 11 months, there's a good chance the kid doesn't even walk, so it's not going to be hard to handle. Just shove a breat in its face. The key thing is lots of sunscreen and keeping it out of the blazing sun. But this year its in late Sept, so less blzing sun.
We took our then two year old last year, and she was fine. Though perhaps that says more about the toughness of her mom than anything. And yes, our two yr old needed a ticket. The Merriweather site says under 2 free to most events, but i can;t remember if that was the case for this one.

Why would you take a 11 month old to this? Really bad idea. Leave the kid at home.

advice for those looking to get tickets this morning:
- expect the website to crash again, and be thankful if it doesn't.
- keep an eye on 930's and TF's facebook and twitter pages. and this board. someone might post a back-door link.
- be patient and keep trying. don't assume this won't sell out in 5 minutes. tickets will be available for a while (30 to 40 minutes, at least). until you've gotten to the ordering page, put in a request and are told "no tickets left" - try, try again.
- remember the tickets are free, and try not to wrap your whole existence into this.

my only concern would be volume and potential hearing damage, but if you stay towards the back of the lawn all should be fine.

^ Crashed already.
Was logged in and started my order at 10:00AM on the dot. By 10:01 I got a reply that Free tickets were already sold out.
I know a whole lot of people are ready to swipe them all up but seems the hacks have their bots on this one already. Hope I'm wrong though. Maybe it's just that you need to use this new link…. which is gonna take some patience and constant reclicking and refreshing. (Crossing fingers while refreshing.)

Got through but then wouldn't go past the login and the time limit ran down.
GODDAMN IT
At least a friend'll let me use her second ticket.
I don't blame Ticketfly too harshly, though… It may suck that people don't get to go to a free show, but the advantages of trying to break/avoid the TM/LiveNation monopoly outweigh this. The simple fact is that processing this many orders all at the same time is pretty unwieldy with today's available technology. Plus, the amount of service charge saved doing TF not TM could pay the $175 a couple times over.
Just sayin'. There's another perspective.
