Son of a dumb bitch! AND they get Reignwolf?!
I'm assuming the headliner is going to be Vampire Weekend seeing as how they've played pretty much everywhere except DC/Baltimore.
so vfest will be the bands that played friday, journey?

What if they held FreeFest on Sunday, Sept. 22?

That could potentially free up quite a few bands who would be in Atlanta (or touring reasonably close) the same weekend: QOTSA, Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend, Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Chvrches.

I'd cum inside my own pants and someone elses pants if that was a FREE day long festival. Minus Mumford and Phoenix.

Invisible Dragons on the main stage from 12-10 you guys, let's face facts.

remind me . . . to stay away from you before incredible concerts.

"Mark your calendars: It appears we have a date for the 2013 edition of the Virgin Mobile FreeFest.
Ernest Greene, who performs as chillwave producer Washed Out, announced a slew of tour dates to promote his second full-length Paracosm. As it turns out, one of those dates is at Merriweather Post Pavilion as part of FreeFest, which appears to be taking place on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Nothing has been officially announced by Virgin Mobile or I.M.P. Productions, the concert promoter which books Merriweather Post Pavilion, as
their sites still read that date announcements are "coming soon." But for now, thanks to some premature tour confirmation, there is is a date and at least one confirmed act."

I didn't see this posted yet.

I'll take Hall and Oates or Journey over a blockhead hard rock band like QOTSA any day.

Maybe the Washed Out date was off by a day. According to this, QOTSA Saturday in Atlanta:

http://www.accessatlanta.com/weblogs/atlanta-music-scene/2013/jun/17/music-midtown-announces-lineup/

which would give them Sunday for MPP.

Also, the MPP date was removed from the WAshed Out site, right?
I'm right?

Hall and Oates definitely, Journey and their fake singer? No way.

I like Washed Out but I have seen him a couple of times already.
I kind of agree with James Ford.. god do I ever hate to

what is the huge deal with Queens??? what do people enjoy about them?

I usually put in their CDs and enjoy them for 15 minutes..I really try to like them.. but first of all they are brickwalled to hell and give me a headache..second of all they have no hooks at all.. no melody..its just bludgeon music.

I much prefer Eagles of Death Metal..

let me clarify that… before i head out to the specials and i'm having a tough time believing i'm going to see them and putting one foot in front of the other

let me clarify: i like bludgeon music..done well like black sabbath on Vol. 4 and Master of Reality it is A WE SO ME.. .but Queens ain't like that I'm afraid.

so what do people like about Queens?
There's a really good Indian restaurant there, though the name escapes me now.
