have you never heard of siren fest? yeah, it's free. one day only, out on coney island (brooklyn). if the music isn't suiting your fancy, go for a walk on the beach/boardwalk. i've been twice and both times it was scorching hot - stages are set up on pavement and there isn't much shade.

I have heard of it (I forgot the free part though). I just have never been to the city and dig the line up this year. The farthest north I have ventured for live music has been Philadelphia.

siren is indeed a good excuse to visit NYC. spend saturday at the festival, and sunday exploring the city/taking in the sights/record shopping/etc.

WAS after party at MHOW is NOT free (in case anyone thought that might be the case). Will prob sell out quickly as their Bowery show sold out in no time.

and NYC has tons of free shows in the summer fwiw. Yeasayer starts it off Sat on Governor's Island.

From their site today:

An announcement will be made on Weds June 9th regarding the Ladies and Gentlemen show in New York on July 30th.

It will be at Radio City Music Hall, it's the only North American Ladies and Gentlemen show. It will be the last L&G show.

Ticket pre sale will start on Friday June 11th with general sale on Monday June 14th.
