I'm sure NYC can do better than that for that day.

has this already been posted? Decemberists at September 19, 2009 at Terminal 5 New York, NY 10019
will perform songs from lottery submissions
sounds like what the did at the Metro in Chicago which was an awesome show ;D
TICKETS ON SALE FRIDAY, AUGUST 21 AT NOON!
A Note from The Decemberists Regarding This Concert:
We received an urgent missive from the boys at the Decemberists SubTerra Campaign Organizational Front (DSCOF) the other day, bringing to our attention that a glaring hole had appeared between the first and the third days of the "A Short Fazed Hovel" Tour 2009, Phase 3. Apparently we had booked a show that day on a scarcely populated atoll off the coast of northern Maine which had succumbed to a mysterious sneaker tsunami and had vanished into the Atlantic ocean, its population of hypersensitive palette-enhanced pygmies disappearing entirely with only a crate of artisanal cottage cheese remaining as a testament to their ancient society.
We decided, in honor of the victims, that we'd play a show in New York City at Terminal 5 on that day, the 19th of September. But we thought we'd try to make it interesting: in homage to that totally awesome scene in Dragon Slayer, we Decemberists will perform a set that will be entirely left to the hands of fate – we will draw songs from a lottery and dutifully play them, regardless of their quality or presence in our memory. Decemberists songs, naturally, but you do never know what bizarre cover songs or strange commands may end up in the pile.
just when you thought the decemberists couldn't be more annoying…

they are also both sold out and have been for awhile. pretty sure it was announced awhile ago. white lies are also here on one of those dates.
9/11 is also super furry animals! so cant wait :)
And staying on point - The Egg 11/1 - @ Highline Ballroom

Hell yes to that show!
I'm still hoping for a full tour, with a DC date, but I'm damn psyched for the Highline show.
I just love the Highline Ballroom. One of my favorite venues, possibly because Ive seen so many great shows there. It will be a great show :)
Only been to Santos once, but I will say they have awesome, helpful staff that work there. And The Morning After Girls sounded really great there.
Any idea what time a typical Friday show there would end?
Id say either 11pm or midnight. Depends on if theres an opener or not (and Id assume there is one) and hoping SFA plays for 2 hours :) ….. cant recall how long their last shows in NYC were, but it seemed they played for quite awhile. Doors @ 7pm and Show @ 9pm. You can also do dinner there - they have tables all around the stage and upstairs with great views of the stage.

Sounds like a great venue. I'm bummed they haven't sold out such a small club, but what can you do?
I've been checking any details on an opener yet, but nothing is confirmed yet. I'd be very OK with no opener, and a marathon SFA set.

oh yeah and the restrooms there are really really nice. or at least the ladies rooms are - with attendant and all. but yeah its a good venue. if i hear anything about an opener will pass on the news. and maybe ill meet you at the show :) i recall their beers being a bit more pricey than most of the LES venues, but its meat-packing district. and their sound is usually really great, although i did see dean & britta have the worst sound problems ever (granted they were an opener, so hoping thats not the case - and the main band sounded great).

NIN is playing its last NYC show on wednesday at T5, but getting a ticket is kinda tough.

also a fan club presale here: http://royksopptickets.sandbag.uk.com/Store/DisplayItems.html
had to use IE, the button weren't working in firefox for me. 1 ticket = $44.50 with shipping (from UK), so probably not much cheaper than through TM.
eff that - $37.75 for one ticket via TM. now to decide if i wanna be pathetic and trek up to NYC for this… or just be pathetic and stay home. decisions, decisions.

I bought them through a presale (not sure if it was the same one - it was from astralwerks - but was def through sandbag.uk) and my ticket wasnt anywhere near $44. Prob the same amount that ticketmaster had it.

according to his status updates, ixkpd-bk got there 30 hours early and was still 15th in line. slept on the sidewalk through a thunderstorm. got a ticket, for face. apparently it was sorts of amazing, " One of the best shows I've been to in my life" type of stuff.

O. M. F. G… setlist from tonight's NIN show at webster hall:
1. "Mr. Self Destruct"
2. "Piggy"
3. "Heresy"
4. "March of the Pigs"
5. "Closer"
6. "Ruiner"
7. "The Becoming"
8. "I Do Not Want This"
9. "Big Man with a Gun"
10. "A Warm Place"
11. "Eraser"
12. "Reptile"
13. "The Downward Spiral"
14. "Hurt"
15. 1,000,000
16. Terrible Lie
17. Metal
18. Lights In the Sky
19. Burn
20. Gave Up
21. Suck
22. Physical
23. The Hand That Feeds
24. Head Like A Hole
yes, they played "the downward spiral" in order and in its entirety. supposedly the first and only time trent has and ever will ever do this. i pray this is misinformation, 'cause i'd LOVE for the band to do this again at T5 (although PHM would be an acceptable alternative).
review from joe saying that the show "meh", too crowded, and he would have preferred seeing some experimental band we've never heard of at the RnR hotel in 3… 2… ;)

There, fixed that for you. :)
You could've also taken this approach:
review from joe saying that the show "meh", too crowded, and he would have preferred seeing some flavor-of-the-month band whose record label just wrote a fat check to Pitchforkmedia, Inc. for a glowing review and a "best new music" rating at the RnR hotel in 3… 2…
P.S. That looks absurd. Too bad it was wasted on Joe.

I'll be giving flacs of the Bowery show a spin in less than five minutes. Talk about instant gratification. Webster will probably surface today.
